yesterday, i declared war on a c3 neighboring me. then attack a few targets.

today, i log on and said i have to wait 2 months because that country has been abandoned by its president. so what's 2 months on kb?

i swear too that the country i attack yesterday has a differennt name that the one today shown me in the same place.

any of you encounter such weirdness in sc?

oh, is there a rule in simcountry that if you don't log into your country/empire or enterprise for certain number of earth months, then you have by default abandon it?

well, now the war has ended and i can't start until 7 months?

that is weird?
"You are already at war with The Republic of Cantita. If the war has recently ended, you can start a new war in 7 months."

at first it's a c3, then it becomes abandon by a president, then now i can't war with it. i already lost some wi from the start?

gm needs to check that out, must be errors, virus, etc?

If no shots are fired by either side during a war for some period (3 or 4 game months?) then the war will automatically end. The 7 month waiting period to re-declare is standard. As for the name change, abandonment...dunno...possibly someone registered it while you were away and immediately de-regged it for getting another country somewhere else. I think there was once an error where new players could inadvertantly register countries at war.

Yes, if you dont log in to a country for a long time then it will expire. Long time being several real months.

We have looked into this war.
there was no president. it was a C3 and when no shots were fired for some time, the war ended.

- There was a strange message about the president abandoning the country. This is obviously wrong as there was no president. we will find out where this message came from and fix it. Thanks for exposing this error which is probably there for a long time.
- Wars end for no activity because you cannot have war dragging on and the two sides are wondering what the other side will do. there must be a way to end a war. the way is: stop attacking and if the other side agrees and stops attacking, the war will end.
- There is a "forced peace" period after the war ended. If you want to continue fighting then do so. If the war ended, leave the other side alone for some time before you start again.
- You can continue the war by attacking once a day or so. but even that will end after some time because wars should not continue for ever.

i declare war on that country, attack a few targets on that same earth day. left to work, came back the next day, and the country was abandon by a president so it said i had to wait two months. the next earth day, i came back and the message said the war ended so i have to wait 7 months.

one thing i learn is that deactivating military resources and reactivating them takes forever. what's the rationale in this?
