It seems that my corporations' trade strategies are automatically being reverted to previous settings. How do I keep it from reverting?

Wait 2 weeks or get to and maintain game level 4. The automatic settings are there to let you learn (or not) what to tinker with to keep them profitable. Keep track of what they do, so you can apply it then.

If you are above game level 4 and/or 2 weeks real time into the game, that's a horse of another color.

According to the documentation, "the function can be turned off." I just don't know how.

On the country pages.
Settings menu --> Automation

as explained here before, not in the first 2 weeks.

you can change a lot right now.
we advise you to leave the trade strategies as they are even after the first two weeks as they help your country to remain profitable.

Lol, way to go. Totally ignore the gamemasters explanation and post your own thought on what it is.

GM says `Not in the first 2 weeks`, it can be interpreted as it had nothing to do with the first 2 weeks.
Then GM says `you can change a lot right now.

The whole thing can be interpreted as u can actually change trade strategy and it had nothing to do with the first 2 weeks if u read it too fast.

Maybe my command and comprehension of English were too poor, i was confused. And not only me, many new players were confused. I can see many post asking the same question.

And its been answered loads of times before too.

2 weeks, 14 days, of you starting you cannot turn off the automation. This is for your protection, its easy to mess up badly and you can learn from it.

By 'you can change a lot right now' it is meant that there are many parameters for you to discover and understand, change at your will. So its not 2 weeks of just sitting there doing nothing.

The GM's English is not 100% either, as he is in fact based in Holland, so you can easily be forgiven for not understanding at a quick glance.

Has anyone had them reset after the first 2 weeks, when dropping game level back down to 4 or lower?

Btw, trade strategy is already obselete. It doesn`t matter what figures u input. U can set it at 500%, the system wouldn`t care, and it will sell your products near your product quality level.

As GM explain in the other thread, it was to protect the economy. So that product will not be left on the shelves. But then trade strategy would then be obselete, u can`t play around with it anymore.

i'm still trying to find where you can set what percentage of your production you want to put on the market, at the moment i don't think there is any as the system sell or not sell your stuffs for you.

as existing, you will have a high chance of selling a nuclear bomb to your enemy, even if you are the only one producing the nuclear bomb. the system don't seem to give you an option not to sell your nuclear bombs. so now some powerful weapons are only offer on the space stations, which us newbees has no way to get there yet because we can't fly there to buy them.

Xiong,

You can manually set how much product to retain in your corporations. That will keep it inventory and off the world market.

As to not selling to a particular country or enterprise etc. ask someone knowledgeable about boycotts.

However, my personal view is that I would rather have my enemies money than having the enemy have it. After all - Coca-cola sold their products to Germany in WWII until there was a huge outcry over it, then they quit selling Coke, and developed a new product - Fanta Orange for the German market.

This is crazy, I have to wait two weeks to be able to set up my country the way I want?

This trade strategy crap is for the birds. Things like this are keeping me from reaching higher levels in a reasonable amount of time.

I'm beginning to wish I'd ignored that Email asking me to come back :(

Nothing changed in the years I played ... seems it's still the same old routine of W3 deciding what the players want.

Come on Yankee, you know you can master it in no time at all. I remember you, you were one of the top old time players. The game is very different now, but it still offers its own brand of challenges. I honestly believe that it is beginning to settle a bit, the last couple of years has been chaos but give it a while..

Yes of course if I wish to put the effort into it.

I've already figured out a temporary way around this country trade strategy issue however it's annoying I had to, and it's a lot of wasted effort and probably money I could be using for other things.

I shouldn't complain though it slowed me down enough to realize I probably don't want to gain higher levels for now and will just hang on to level one for as long as I can robbing C3's although, it's more effort making it pay decent returns from what I remember.
