So I took over another nation earlier, and it became a part of my empire.

However a little on from that, I found that I cannot economically afford to upkeep an empire at this time. Is there a way I can grant 'freedom' to a country in my empire?

Well you can always transfer money from your new country to your main country and then close that country via the 'simcountry portal' then invade a new country again and repeat the process over and over in order to earn trillions in sc$ cash. I do it often.

I consider that cheating :P I just want to 'abandon' the second country and stick with my main one :P would it work in the same way? I jsut wouldn't select a new country?

yup, you just hit the cancel country. But it isn't cheating. War players have take many economic sacrifices for their armies.

War Levels for example, if you win against a War Level 1 you get 1T$, WL2 2T$, etc... The ONLY REASON they do this is to give incentive for taking over a country and draining its money and cancelling it. If your a new player you can really use that Trillion dollars. So take it before you cancel it.

But yes its a painless seperation to ditch a country

Yeah, dont even think about buying a C3 second country. Later if you wanted, instead of taking one by war and starting from scratch, you can often buy a second country from an existing president for far far less AND it will have ready made corporations, lots of population, hosps and schools etc. (just be sure the old president hasn't recently sold lots of population).

So for now, bash those C3s and rob their cash!
