What weapon or fighting group is it best to attack a C3's Defensive Wings with?

There are 2 types of defensive wings, interceptors and helicopters, it's up to you of how you take them out, but you don't have to take out both.

The cheapest and the longest way is by using offensive AA missile batteries to take out the helicopters, then take out the rest of the country with your ground units. The interceptors don't have the ability to take out ground units which will save you some ammo.

The dearer and the fastest way is by using fighter planes to take out the interceptors, then take out the rest of your country with your presison bombers. The helicopters don't have the ability to take out those fighter planes and bombers which will also save you some ammo as well.

I hope this helps you a bit.

How many?
I have the 44 ranked defense on KB and cant finish war with a C3. I even have nuclear weapons--lol!

Everything I throw at the Helocopter Defense wing gets wiped out (!). This includes cruise missiles and bombers.

If I could get rid of the DAMN Defense wing- I'd win really quickly...

Can't get off AAs that quick - should I just leave my occupation forces in cities and pull back everyting else?

Would stealth bombers work?

I'm thinking about pulling out and at least leaving my occupation forces in...

Fighter planes - lol - but how many?

It seems to me that 400 is not enough.

I have navy fighter planes - I should get more that 500 planes?

Ok then lol :P just remember though that the quality of your weapons and ammo is vital to win a war and minimise your losses. what war level were you going up against? as you are going to need more of them the higher you go up. Also the game does'nt allow you to use nukes against C3s.

What's the point of occupation forces?

Many units were destroyed with huge amount of ammunition disappearing with them.

Even now, units can have very large quantities of ammo.
supply units move fast and supply the units when needed.

Making units much larger will just increase losses on both sides and with it, the cost of war.

the entire German airforce today, is probably less than on 400 strong.
In reality, wings have arround 20 aircraft.

Occupation forces where intended as units that will prevent the reoocupation of land once you have conquered it.
They are not used widely.

Then maybe the Occupation forces should be the only units that should have the ability to paint the war maps?

It is true that in reality an air unit is much smaller than what each air unit is on this game, maybe one day you could make this a reality to have "20 aircraft" air units on here which could cut the cost of war even further, the same goes for tanks, ships etc.

What, you don't think 20,000 planes on an aircraft carrier is realistic?

I brought 4,000 tanks through the countryside and city streets of a couple neighboring countries - it didn't phase the citizens at all.

Seems realistic to me :)

@Crafty If an actual carrier had 20,000 planes, my first question would be "where does the crew eat and sleep?"

@Bill You know, all those painting on the map is every location that is complaining about your tanks.

Units are now smaller than ever before and our efforts to decrease them even more were always criticised although these moves reduced the cost of war. We plan to reduce them more.

The navy is far too large. The numbers decline too but the navy cannot upgrade and for now must remain larger.

when navy units are introduced, they will be much smaller and will be able to upgrade their quality.

If you do plan to reduce them even further, don't forget to reduce the total amount of weapons on those C3 country garrisons too when we're waging war against them. As I believe you have got the balance, when calculating the income/cost of war just about right as I can make a decent enough profit from it.

What do occupation units do?

Andy

If we reduce the size of units, we reduce the garrisons too. we also test the numbers of casualties in a set of standard attacks to see the reductions on both sides.

Mike, please read the messages above and this was already answered.
