Hello, Smith: I suggest try to build more schools and high schools; tune up the priorities of the education of your country; consider close those defense related state corporations and try to build profitable corporations.

Don't worry, It takes time to build a country.

Cheers! :)

also try raising salaires if it says due lack of workers I was told to go up to 320 in salaries and my corps do quiet well but also you need to raise your government salaries to 220 to balance it out, also food corps I don't see much profit hardly and like government corps like hopsitals and traintracks corps, and never had much luck with military corps as well maybe other have different opinion but it don't work for me to build the corps

I just checked the country.
There were no corp closings in the past 4 days, probably this was before.

They are all doing good, and with the current population, you can probably start two more and have full production.

with upgrading ongoing, profitability will improve.

Hi. I have this problem. Three days in and the AI has closed 3 corporations, 1 every 5 months. Each was profitable the month before they closed, so why?! frustrating.

My country is Torama republic on LU

First, I noticed that I have 6 or 7 corps with less than 10% employees. 3 of those make the same product. If I close 2 of them, will it benefit the 3rd company? And will it hurt the overall unemployment % in my country?

Second, After the above step is covered, should I consider closing 1 or two of the other low-employee companies in the hopes it will help some of the remaining companies improve their profitability by making more workers available for the remaining companies? And would this help eliminate the closing of corporations due to low profits?

I ask the above because even though a few companies are seeing improved profits, the overall corporate profits are still dropping.

You have too many Corporations in regard to your amount of employable people. Divide your employable people by 250,000. This will tell you approximately how many corporations you can/should have. Keep the best, close the rest. Then you will make money. A high country employment figure is worthless unless ALL of your corporations are running @ 100%. Good luck.

Good advise here. If you have too many corporations for the size of your population, you will need to close some.

But also:
check your education priorities.
You can see how many are employed in each group, how many are added each game month and how many are needed for your industry.

I am sure that some of these groups have zero available people.
You could have many unemployed in some groups, but if other groups have shortages, corporations are unable to hire.

Check/change the education priorities and try to produce enough professionals in all groups.

Thanks for some good ideas. I also used some of WildEyes tips in the old thread from a year or two ago. Raising a few educational priorities in Teachers, nurses and doctors to 99 for a few turns seemed to help as well. Hiring has improved over the last 24 hours and some of the companies that are needed that had low staff have seen the employees climb some as well as improvements in profits.

Make sure the total of all education priorities is 120.
above 120, the numbers are in fact used relative to each other.
put all at 99, and it is the same as setting all to 10.

improved education will help a lot.
get the index to 200+
the numbers of educated professionals will jump and you will be able to educate enough professionals for 100 hiring. (if the population is large enough).

I only used the 99 for teachers, nurses and doctors, and then only for a few clicks so I would have more teachers for the schools I still need and to fully staff the hospitals. I think it was one of the biggest reasons my health index rose 31 points yesterday, so it appears to have worked. And I have a significantly higher number of teachers available for more schools.

Thanks to all
