On this day the citizens of the Ushra'Khan nation remember their fight for freedom from oppression. The year 3414 marks the 500 year anniversary of the Khumaak uprising.

After hundreds of years of enslavement under the Amarr, the Minmatar people finally rose up and fought for their freedom. The Amarr were murderous slavemasters who not only forced their religion upon unwilling masses, but they also raped, killed, and sold Minmater people like personal property to be used and discarded.

The great uprising began when a Minmatar boy struck and killed his master with a Khumaak, thus turning an ancient Amarrian relic into a symbol of freedom and war. The Amarr nearly killed off the boy's entire tribe.

On this day, we remember that freedom is not free.

Let us raise the bloody fist of 'matar high!

Dangerous things, those Khumaaks. Did they by any chance time their uprising based on a legend they may have heard passed down from Old Earth, how a powerful leader was slain there, also on 22 November?

Many do not believe in the Old Earth origin theories.
History amongst the Matar people are somewhat sketchy after years of fighting.
The Amarr peoples' history is no better, being rewritten to suit the church, the petty whims of a loose empress, or outright suppression of truth.
