Hello world, is anyone else experiencing any glithces involving strategic bases or airports? I have two glitches preventing me from accomplishing some things. First, I am not able to garrison a strategic airport in one of my countries. I've tried using different garrisons and everything and it absolutely won't register that a garrison has been assigned. It continues to just read as 'undefended'. Secondly, I am not able to accept a trade offer to purchase a strategic airport from my enterprise. It is very weird. I clicked on accept multiple times and it WILL NOT let me purchase the strategic airport. I positively have the military spending and the country positively has more than 3T in cash. I gives no message or anything. The screen flashes and nothing changes. This is really odd. So, Tom or any other SimCountry employee, if you read this please check into this. Sincerely, Tattooed Priest

I had similar issues with fortifications and military bases. My plan was to stockpile forts in the corporations and then direct sell them in wars. It does not work. You can make open market purchases during wars. You have to out bid everyone else.

Not sure about the garrisons.

TP, I've been fighting all day.

So many glitches I don't know where to start.

The one that stood out to me was while fighting sparktopia, I had a period of about 10 minutes or so when no matter how many times I clicked on attack target/defenses, the screen giving the battle report would not come up. I tried loggong out and in to the country and even the site, I think after I logged out of the country several times it allowed me to continue fighting. Pretty annoying and could have been a serios op. for my enemy to take advantge.

Similair issues like not being able to tage LRDs or SF units persist. Abunch of notables, but im tired and have to think about the ones from today later. For w3, I will attempt to detail a few other issues privately.

I had similar problems with a strategic base too, being first unable to sell it to my ceo, which I think was intentional on the part of W3C, and may not be considered a glitch, and then having trouble selling it to a country that wanted to buy it. That president kept trying over the course of a day or two, and we never could accomplish the sale. And this was last week!

While strats and nukes are being discussed here I want to ask this. Are the NDB's malfunctioning again? When I look at the disasters page these last few days I see nothing but nuclear disaster upon nuclear disaster. Is that because folks are fighting c3 wars and have them practically undefended against nukes or is the entire nuke game flawed really badly?

TP I would like to clear this up for you.

I recently took a slave that Aqua inconviently placed on my border. Of course hes "INACTIVE" (YEAH RIGHT), but popped up with Slaves in my area. I am sure intended for air def. Whatever the reason, I felt like having fun and just wanted to smash it a bit to send a message.

However, he didn't fight back and I was going after the entire empire. Attempting to respect this fake inactivity, I stood down, out of respect for AF and the game itself. I felt wrong and even tried to alert him publicly and privately that I wanted to return it.

Fast Forward. . . With intentions of giving it back in mind, I never bought weapons and left all the money in it, and even the money it was making.

OF course, despite me placing this country into a fed of warlords, BC the b00b, decided to attack and take it. He did his research b4 attacking, but should have known it would have meant suicide. Not on my part but on Govt fed behalf.

Why would one commit suicide attacking the one country that was off limits?? I speculated and came to my own conclusion.

Now I wanted to replace my recent loss. But Aqua kept buying those stinky forts, and I "save the clicks". His empire is poorly defended. So BOOM. I asked him to allow me to take one only as you read. But he resisted even after I took the one and stopped firing, (OUT OF RESPECT MIND YOU)

Of course I read he tried nuking me, destroyed my capitol and some cities so I sent a message, many times. The nukes and NDBS worked, cause they stopped his nukes from landing.

Barring all that, there were a HOST of serious glitches and oddities that occured at opportunistic time frames. If I were a detective, I would proly open an investigation.

Recently there has been alot of meddling internally and externally, like for example last night someone got into my computer and rearranged my sockets.

Which of course had me oflline for a while, my husband corrected the prol, but It is a cause for serious alarm. IRC broadcasts your IP address so I will consider that as the primary suspect for now. If it were the site, I am sure they would have ended the wars rather than go thru all that trouble.

Nuclear defense batteries worked every test I have tried.

I have read bitter comments from some players who had nuclear defense batteries deactivate due to worker shortages. You can avoid this buy deploying an extra NDMB in the garrisons or having spares in the inventory.

Garrisons and units can deactivate as of February 11, 2009.

You can use nuclear bombs to kill enough population to force the remaining batteries to deactivate.

Correct Sheep, but now all the corps are dead, so there are enough workers, I think i wiped two countries of corp state and private, and all of a sudden the garrisons pop up, no supply units installing them however, which is really pissin me off.

None whatsoever.

I thought that ceo corps were immune to disaster and war damage but this is not correct. Is my memory playing tricks on me, or was this way it used to be, and GM changed it, and simply didn't tell us? I'm talking about waaaay back, like a time machine.

August 30, 2006

Quote:

...Enterprises run the risk of their corporations being bombed out of existence very quickly while they are not a party in the conflict and the choice of countries for setting up corporations is tricky as the CEO must asses the chance of being involved in war.

We intend to add several features that will help protect the assets of such countries and enterprises and we will limit the protection to contributing players.

Public corporations that are enterprise controlled and private corporations will be protected during war and will not be subject to attacks and destruction. They might suffer from war because workers may be in the army but such corporations will not be destroyed...

So the programming was modified and it became impossible to bomb a CEO corporation directly. That would not effect a secondary impact. I am not sure if they were ever immune to nukes.

I really like this thread's title.

Yes. It is a strategic glitch. It was strategically developed and placed just for you guys.

Actually, we are going to have a new feature now: The Wheel of Glitch. Every week, I'll spin and spin the wheel around and around until it stops and a new strategic glitch is developed. The results will be exclusive to a few select people - me and God, that makes four.

Strategy is a nice little round term. I prefer tactician over strategist though.

Just have strategic glitches would leave the game off balance. Tactical anomalies and logistic quirks should get equal representation.

The reason I asked:

CD Bella FMU has been damaged for 5%. The total cost of repair is 269.67M SC$.
Production last month was limited due to war damage to the corporation.

This message has been active for several game months and no repairs have been made.

I also lost an electric power corp in No Problem several real months ago, and thought it was an anomoly, but as this message shows, the immunity that the GM said was in effect does not hold up to inspection.
