Can anyone explain true public corporations and the benefit of them? I keep running across discussions saying how they are the most profitable, but not how to protect them from share takeovers and all that.

That, young padawan, if for you to discover.

P.s. Truly public corps can sell at the highest quality = more income. They use less FMU so less cost. = more profit.
However, you only own 24.99% thus only get your share of the income and costs.

You can't really secure the shares - hence it being public. Make sure you sell to only those you trust.

Public corps don't use less FMU. Its still 68.

You just have more quality (250 instead of 225), which means more income.

Plus can't your CEO break the 750 corp limit with public corps?

Yes, through the share market. Treasurer has somewhere around 2200 corps in one CEO alone. It is tedious and painstaking to do and takes determination but can be done.

Correction to my earlier post.

FMU's across the board have been reduced to 66. This was a stealth change.

So am I correct to hear that any public corporation can still be taken over by others even if you dont have the shares for sale? I thought the game mirrored RL where you can only buy shares of stock if someone is actually listing them for sale. I've been noticing in the share market all the low p/e companys have high demand registered for shares but none get sold. So how is the takeover happening?

Only through NATIONALIZATION of the corp by the country the corp lives in.

the takeover happens if the stock splits over and over, givin new shares, your target % will allow others to buy those and increase their ownership % beyond your stake unless you have more than 1 entity controlling the public corporation.

stock splits make no diff to % share holding

"stock splits make no diff to % share holding"

depends, when you catch a failing public corp the stock retractions can if you work it right give you 100% of the stock if you so desire.

At a min I don't leave much out for someone else to collect profit on.

no the splits themselves don't change % but it's the guy grabbing the corp and issuing IPO's at the right time so it will cut the number of current stocks in the next month doing it :)
