Greetings to all the gamers who have decided to play at Simcountry, I hope that everyone had a Merry Christmas, and I want to wish everyone a very happy and prosperous new year. In 2008 we have seen many changes in our lives both in game in in the real world. I am glad for the many success stories that I have heard and read about. I am also saddened somewhat that many players had to leave the game or to spend less time playing do to real life issues and other reasons. I know that many of the players have had to overcome great trails in real life over this past year. Good gaming to all and I wish that all of you have the best year ever in 2009!!! :) :)

Cities across the globe celebrate the start of 2009

Celebrations are taking place around the world to mark the end of 2008 and usher in the new year.

From Sydney to London and Auckland to Edinburgh, revellers greeted 2009 with pyrotechnic shows and street parties.

Some 400,000 people braved freezing temperatures in London for a fireworks display beside the Thames.

In New York, meanwhile, hundreds of thousands packed a frigid Times Square ahead of the descent of the famous Waterford crystal ball at midnight.

A number of Arab nations - including Egypt, Jordan and Syria - cancelled planned celebrations in solidarity with Palestinians in the Hamas-run Gaza Strip after a fifth day of Israeli air-strikes on the coastal enclave.

Happy New Year!

Fortunately, we portuguese decided to skip 2009 and went straight ahead to 2010! Enjoy the crisis, suckers!

For this new year (previous year, for me), I wish everyone lots of cash, lots of exercise and lots of sex! If you are a prostitute, that's about every year you've worked, expect 2009. ;0
