I captured two C3s on LU and tried to close the state corps. I received the above message.

Interesting.

In a bad way.

That wouldn't make me a happy camper. There is absolutely economic sense in closing the state corps.

Wait until you've owned the country a couple of game months, then you can close them.

I get this message when trying to close a particular corporation in my main country, not a recently captured C3. I am able to close other state corporations and have most automation features disabled.

I've repeatedly tried closing it over several games years, so it doesn't seem to be a matter of waiting it out.

The corporation is consistently unprofitable year after year, and it is fully upgraded. I think it makes economic sense to close it and let the workers shift to privately held corporations.

Any thoughts on what is happening and/or workarounds?

NECROMANCY.

Anyway, can you link me to the corp? Or give the name, country and world? If I see it, it might jolt my memory.

Haha, is it bad forum etiquette to revive an old thread? I thought maybe it was preferable since it's the same issue.

It's quite alright. It's probably best this way in case anyone searches the forum.

I did remember something. This used to be tied with the market value of a corporation. The game would prohibit closure if it was higher than a certain amount.

But I doubt that is the case here, and it is possible this feature was intended to be completely removed (can anyone confirm or deny this?). This could be a bug.

Oi, Gamemaster, take a look! It is better if you send him an e-mail to gamemaster@simcountry.com.

I've seen this complaint a couple of times in the last few months. The GM has always asked for details of the corp when it has occoured.

Emailing them would be your best move as LG says.

I seem to remember that purposely hurting the corp, maybe by lowering its salaries and building another corp so it under-hires, or other ways, will tip the criteria for the corp to close in your favour.
