I had a question I was hoping some could answer. I'm considering spending some coins on a 2nd country. The question is will it just be a slave state to my current one, or will it be it's own individual entity with protection and levels?

If you take another country on a world where you already have a country, it will become a slave state.

If you are adding a new country on a world where you do not own any countries, it is a separate entity.

If you are in the first situation and are looking to add a second country on a world you already play on, do not buy a country with gold coins from the gamemaster. Learn how to conquer C3s with your army instead. What would cost you 100GC to buy from the gamemaster, costs 1-2 GC in ammo at most to conquer.

it will be a slave state to your current one, with no war protection. If you have an army, you should consider taking the country, rather than using GC's.

Thanks for the fast and complete replies y'all! I was afraid of it just becoming a slave state which is why I asked. I'll just go ahead with the plan to conquer an independent country. Does anyone have any tips on doing it?
What weaponry is typically most effective for independents?
Also how many cargo planes should I have on hand as well as supply units?
I'm also curious about how much harder it is to take over and maintain a country that isn't contiguous to my first. The ones by me aren't so great compared to a few others I've seen around.

Eeoulo, my advice to you would be to concentrate on your main first. Make sure it is running with a decent economy and that it is making a healthy profit BEFORE you take a slave.

I would also advise you to get to level 3 with your main only to reap the rewards as a slave can seriously hinder any progress you make.

However, it is your empire so do with it as you see fit. What weapons you use depends on where the country is. If it is next door to you, it is much easier to take as you can easily 'paint' the map with special forces units. There are many threads about this already in the help section of the forum - take a look thare and you are sure to find out what you need to know.

Eeoulo: Are you a member of a Fed? Most Feds have experienced players who are more than willing to help you learn the ways of war in conquering a C3. I am not on KB so I am not sure what Feds are there, but I would look around on that world's page or on the Fed page.

another alternative is to buy a country in the cash market. you can often buy a pretty well developed country for about 50gcs. i prefer to take a c3 but they currently are so bare bones, you can't make any money from them. buying an up and running country for 50gc is about the equivalent of 25t in cash. just do the math, by adding up how much cash, weapons, pop, corps, education index, hospital index, trans index, and monthly cash flow. this method can be especially true if a vet is leaving the game and just want to get out.
