I went from 25T net cash to 10T net cash in less than a day without any big orders yesterday. Apparently we need to fire all our sim accountants.

and now I'm down to 6T! I should not have been hit by those FS at all as that 25T was spread out across 7 countries!

Spending space doesn't replenish that quickly.

Hello. In the last day or so, I have had about 20T game cash disappear from my empire on LU. This represents the disappearance of about EIGHTY PERCENT of my empire's cash, so there is no way it is explained by financial services.

The decline is also far too severe to be accounted for by large orders of product. I have ordered nothing manually, and order strategies might account for a decline of a trillion or two per real day, not 20T. I have not changed my order strategies since a few days after that function was unveiled and my cash levels had been stable at 25T for several game years before this.

In order for a decline of such magnitude to be explained I would have had to log in to each of my nations on Little Upsilon nearly every game month the last day or so and order max spending space in both military and consumer product. I have not. Nor do I get newspaper messages saying my country is ordering more products than population can afford.

The two countries where this affliction has been most severe are Evil Woody Thoughts Beaches 0 CEO tax and More Evil Thoughts 0 CEO tax. I have had to manually transfer cash into these two countries, and have dropped from level 6 to level 2 as a result of disappearing cash.

Please investigate and fix!

You don't. Only way to fix it is to hope and pray the GM isn't in utter denial that a problem could POSSIBLY exist with his game.

My decision not to renew my membership when it expires is pretty much sealed at this point...but I still expect what I've already paid for up through this fall.

you might look at the cost of replenishing ammo. if you've got big def/off weapon stashes they have to be replenished and it's costly. you can even be making a profit in the country and still be spending a couple of T in ammo replenishment. as you know the game now automatically replenished garrisons also, so it may not show on your military page, since the garrisons are hidden.

Oh, the finances page shows ammo expenditures, and that explains maybe 20-30% of the decline in cash.

I want to know where the REST went. And no, my population didn't order THAT many products...I looked there too.

Cash had been stable for several game years, up until yesterday.

Check the graphs for everything on the financial index page. Make sure everything is accounted for.

Is it just one country or a bunch?

*sigh* I guess I'll have to do just that tomorrow (today I'm too damn busy IRL). Please PM me a list of prospective targets...

I wonder how long it will be before any cash raided will be stolen by GM again. Like my empire suddenly spent 20T on weapons in a day with auto order. It has NEVER ordered that much before automatically.

Remove the secrecy from your countries and state their names. Quickly now, before the game year passes.

Oh, the problem was spread out across my entire empire. Not just those two countries...they are simply the two that went into debt (first). I now have a third in debt.

I find it extremely hard to believe that my empire suddenly decided to get up and buy 20T in weapons in one day. I did not place any manual orders, and the auto ordering strategies have NEVER ordered anywhere near that much up until yesterday.

Unfortunately, orders placed by countries are not logged unless they are contracts. At least, I can't access such logs. Since I bought so many weapons, would you mind pasting the logs that you have access to, of what weapons my countries allegedly automatically bought, what price they paid, and what quality they were? I need to know what to sell back. Thank you.

My country names are Gondolia, I turned off my auto-buying and spent GC to get more cash flowing into my country. My other 2 countries were NOT affected...WHY??? Well I think it is because of the ammo thing. They need to change that, that is total bullshit.

------------------

my response

My empire already had stockpiles of ammunition, so there was no reason for it to order above and beyond the auto-order settings (which I have set at such a level as to MAINTAIN cash levels, not very suddenly deplete them).

I requested specific records of WHAT ammo I bought, so that I could find it and sell it back and recover the cash. You have failed to answer my request with the records I seek. If the game does not keep logs of automatic purchases, perhaps it SHOULD so we can trace down these 20T orders ourselves without pestering you about them. The game logs contractual transactions so I see no reason why it should not log transactions executed by automated functions. This way we can sell back some of the product to amortize the cost, instead of seeing drastic drops-off-a-cliff in our cash reserves that drop us four levels.

For that matter, this is exactly why your desire to force everyone to lower cash reserves is nonsense. I had 25T in 7 countries that went to 5T in a day, reducing me below the 1T net cash average threshold and dropping me from level 6 to level 2.

As it is, this was the last straw. I see no reason to renew my membership past October, what with your continued determination to stifle the game. When we cannot even hold enough cash in our countries to insulate ourselves against the whims of the auto-order functions, without seeing such cash taxed away, it is enough.

In the short term, I found it necessary to take countries from an unfederated active player to replenish some of the disappearing cash. To be blunt, I will do so every time I notice such a drastic decline in my cash reserves that I did not initiate. My automatic order settings are set to maintain equilibrium with my economy, not exhaust my spending space for an entire month.

And if such drives the people who lose their empires away from the game, oh well. This game is dying a slow death anyway. You are smothering it, with your utter lack of acknowledgment of player consensus that you've gone too far.

Why did you try to hide the fact that you had crippled high-quality corporations for more than a game month before finally admitting, upon being pwned by the entire community on the forums, that you had "averaged" high quality offers with low quality orders? Why did you not disclose such up front in your December deflation announcement?

I have had enough with banging my head against the wall with you. I will play out my existing membership, but at this point know that you will not see a renewal, and I have already referred prospective players AWAY from Simcountry solely based upon my observation of the attitudes of Gamemaster.

Hello Keith. Seems you are suffering the same as many of us. I'd like to recruit you for Operation Soup Kitchen, along with many other veterans that plan on letting our membership expire. At least that way we can get our jabs in and maybe, just maybe, turn things around for the better.

Check out the GR forums...the "Ammo" thread.

have you checked your garrisons? my LU empire was going bankrupt rapidly then I looked in my garrisons and found lots and lots of 250+ quality ammo that I didn't manually order. what I think was happening, is that my countries were automatically ordering ammo, moving it to the garrisons, ordering more ammo, etc. every single month. due to the fast game speed on LU it's possible for an empire to have several trillion disappear each RL day in this manner. to make matters worse there is an ammo shortage which probably results in many ammo orders being upgraded to "immediate."

same thing happened on my solitary, small military slave on WG. 19T in debt :/

I already have existing ammo stockpiles of hundreds of thousands (at minimum) of each kind of ammunition, so at the very least there would be no reason for my countries to immediate-order ammo. They, quite bluntly, are not in shortage.

As for the quality...I order Q100...of course with the gm's recent Profit-Nerfing it's possible I'm actually paying for Q250 and not getting it. Without the kind of LOGS demanded in my email to gamemaster, we will never know what we pay for ammo.

yea, keith, i'm with you, I had a country spending 1t a game month, via auto-ordering. When i turned it down, it was still spending 500b. I was really just ordering a couple hundred of whatever, over what the monthly use was... plus a few hundred, total, various weapons.

I took over an inactive that had a ton of cash, that went quickly, but it gave me enough space to do some IPOs... get a little more cash into the country...

I guess thats bottom line. An unexpected, unannounced change, caused me to spend hours fixing things... this isn't the first time, W3C has a history of making brutal changes, and only say something after the players complain.

It wasn't to long ago. I spent several weeks fixing worker shortages, adjusting ed priorities, exchanging workers, trying to do it with buying as little pop as i could. After allot of hours, and several weeks, of building corps, ect... I had something in the area of a 90+ empire wide employment. So i log in the next day, to the minimum of workers i'm short in is 1m. In most cases, i was short more like 3-5m workers...

I could go on and on... W3C should atleast let us know they are going to be tweaking things. And jeese, update the stinking documentation!!! Be a little more upfront. I don't really need to be in the decision making progress. Infact i don't want to be. But it'd be nice to know that a change is coming, and rather than wasting hours fixing something, just to have it break again... I can spend that time getting ready for whats coming.

So, after all this time, of unannounced changes, undocumented new features... its like playing charades...

so, i'm getting rid of all my countries, giving them away, if they aren't worth anything, i'm dereging. and i'll just play my CEO's, in may, when my membership expires, i'm not sure if i'll renew or not. i could go either way. but if they keep doing this, i don't think i'll still be playing SC
