The market however only need 8-10 corps for full production. The 21 cocoa corps I own are contracted to me. I sell the production whenever I feel like it. @Yankee Thanks for pointing the obvious. Shutdown cocoa, shutdown military supplies which are needed for the units to be functional.

Its a basic component of many different products and a very small market(at the time). The automation in the game quickly adjust to deal with any manipulation. I guess if you are determined enough you could have an effect on a small market. But i also believe, on a number of occasions, the GM said they routinely step in behind the scenes to counter such moves. I believe an open discussion by a player about specific market manipulation is unlikely to have much success. Subtlety was never a strong suit of the train conductor.
