The WGC Papers (White Giant)

I have been debating whether to post some of this stuff and this are just some things from the beginning of research but I think it makes it pretty clear that we really expected a fight from WGC and the last thing we were thinking about was a 'raid'. I have plenty more that I can post, but this should be a good indication of our thought process over the last month all the way up until after we decd:

You should not be able to asset raid the largest federation of a server. This should be a question of ability, not of morality.

Elechristian was a WGC member for a very long time, knew us intimately, knew all the members targeted very well and fought with and against us in our internal wargames. He knew our capabilities, our strategy and our individual strengths and weaknesses.

I find it somewhat disingenuous that he 'forgot' so much and got it all so wrong.

Agreed Scarlet, but that is exactly the accusation being lobbed and rather than continue that debate, I thought it would be easier to share some of our conversations to show what our thoughts really were.

Jo - I think you should understand that EC had a lot of respect for WGC's ability and I don't think he quite understood the level that we had reached in the war game and how much he had learned from us. I have much more from him in particular but I have not had time to sift through all of it, these MSN convos are quite long and difficult to read. However, there is plenty more and I will sift through it.

You can question EC's motives in this or call him a traitor if you want, but the honest truth is he was quite sure that we were up against a very strong enemy and that this was going to be a very intense battle. I was the most optimistic of the group and thought we could pull off our goals in a week, although I fully expec

Under the current war game system just because you can doesn't mean it should be so easy done. I know about the prep time and that is hard for sure. But war is too fast any more.

please no argument about they should have been better prepared, that may be, but the game is still tilted towards aggressive style of play.

Now having said that I think moral issues are a bit much. its a game.



My concern is with a system that is designed in such a way that the eventual conclusion is easy lopsided wars.

Barney - I'm not sure I'd say the game is geared towards aggressive style of play, I think it just seems that way right now because just as you have mentioned, there are so few of us with the knowledge...and then even fewer using it.
