Airlifting units (Kebir Blue)

this is a bit vague. does anyone know how this works? also, my experience is that you have to declare on a country in order to create ra's. what's been your experience.

not entirely sure what has changed, but as recently as the WGC war, in order to airlift a unit, you had to have military access granted from the receiving country. with out it, you would not be able to tag the countries airbase to airlift to

so the way i read this. you dec on a c3, take it over, go into it, allow military access, go back to the first country, start airlifting. and now our new feature... if you have an ally beyond the original 3k range, but in range of your new C3, (or you own country or what ever,) and they grant your country military access, then you can make a second hop from the middle country to the far one.

it would be interesting to see if you could airdrop from the remote location... that would be pretty cool.

it sounds like there's not much difference but if they have the airdrop feature that would indeed be cool.

The implications of this are actually quite large and I'm not sure why they have made this change as it is not something that anyone was asking for as far as I am aware. The rules used to be this way but to my knowledge they removed them so that people couldn't fight extremely long distance wars without having at least a country in range.

The first step is creating a remote depot by dropping a Rapid Deployment Unit, you can drop them in your own empire, in a federation members country, in a country that grants you permission or in a country that you have declared on once the war is active, so in the case of c3's you can drop them there immediately. Once the remote depot is built, you can then create units out of it, with the change you can now create (I'm assuming, haven't done it yet) another RDU at the remote depot, that RDU can then be dropped up to 3K km away from the *remote depot* and will create another

to try to lessen the lop sided knowledge base on airlifting

their are 2 common mistakes people make with airlifting that make them think that it is pointless.

#1, putting to much supplies, namely gasoline, dramatically increases the number of trucks in the unit, and each of those need to be lifted. using a minimum amount of gasoline, to a low level, same with ammo, just put in what you'd need. for instance, if you want to move 10 LRD into position to invade, 200-250K ammo for tanks and arties is probably going to be plenty, no need to send tons of ammo... by keeping the number of *trucks* in a unit low, reduces the burden on the air transport units.

#2 you need allot of air transport units. recently i was able to airlift 15 full sized LRD, and 10 Battalions, in a matter of hours. i had 92 Air Transport units... thats 4600 Military Transport Airplanes. Don't be alarmed by what seems a large number. Each M

Tarlao will be airlifted from Lyons to Tukura Military Airport in The Democratic Union of Minosa.

now, the thing about *airlifting* it does not require a remote depot, it requires an offensive air base. in order to "tag" an oab, the receiving country must grant military access... airlifting and airdropping are 2 different things. i still haven't tested if you can air drop from a remote location, but i'll do that tomorrow.

what i did in this experiment, on WG, i conquered 2 c3's, and granted military access to the conquerer, i airlifted from the conquerer to the first conquest, and then to the second. I'm still waiting an ally to grant access to transport out side of normal range... but with neither country did i drop and RDU.
