Sunday, August 22, 2010 - 06:17 pm  UPDATE SCWN 3.0 is dead *weeps*. NOTE: You are not able to login. SCWN 4.1 has now been activated. However, 4.1 is not yet done. The main functions of the site are up, minus uReport on the Planetary News page. Some editing is still taking place. I have changed the website over to 4.1 so that users who have still be visiting may have a live preview of 4.1 Also, at this time, registration to the site is closed. It will be added into the new structure. To preview the page, go to http://www.SimcountryWorldNews.com Immediate Projects Currently Underway: 1. Edit of the current Planet News a. connecting the images back to their stories. b. making uReport broadcasts functional. 2. Login Functions a. restoring registration. b. allowing users to log out :P 3. Completing the profile page a. updating the players with their messages. b. Creating all tables needed in the database for each user, so that functionality can be given to all users.URGENT!!! so users can use the profile page. and others... SCWN's Question to you: For the profile page, I was thinking showing status updates only from a user's contacts. So lets say you have 13 contacts on SCWN, when you log in, it will only show those contact's updates, like Facebook. However, with this being a game, should everyone receives everyone's status update? Your opinion? Any Suggestions?

Still have more features being added, as the site isnt done. Next on the agenda is for completion of the login section and the setup of adding contacts, so players can begin adding fellow players theyd like to communicate with. Former Projects: 1. Completing the Classifieds, allowing all players to create "LIVE ADS" that will circulate throughout the website, advertising alliances, products, low tax countries, common markets, etc. c. Completing "da Bloids", allowing all players to add funny articles.

| Friday, September 3, 2010 - 02:25 pm First off... Thanks everyone for the comments made either in chat or messages about SCWN. NOTE: I am aware that there is a glitch in login functions. I have experienced it myself. Users are still able to login from a computer, but are unable to login from mobile devices or from Linux computers. I will attempt to fix this today, URGENT. The fix will also fix a second issue, once the user logs out, they are unable to view news, except they log back in. Im almost done with the site, so everyone be ready for the news to start flowing! uReport| uReport is already active! Users can log into their accounts, click "My Media Center". #1. Name your National News Network. #2. Begin publishing your articles for all to see. The good news is that once an article is published, it is immediately announced on the "board" of every member of the site...the perfect way for everyone to see your article. Game Masters:| I am also going to make a distinction for the Game Masters of Simcountry, for if they decide to join the site also. To date: 77 players have joined SCWN|. Once the new site allows registration again (1-2 weeks), I am sure the amount of users will skyrocket.

| Friday, September 3, 2010 - 02:31 pm Also note, construction on Simcountry's COMPLETE ENCYCLOPEDIA and TUTORIALS will begin soon! (sooner than you think). It will allow all members to contribute to very small sections of the Gamer's Guide. Each section will be small so that one thing will not burden anyone. This way, players will be able to direct newbs to a "ONE STOP SHOP" of organized information that will be easy to navigate and edit. It will detail everything in Simcountry. Whats different from SCWN's Encyclopedia from existing tutorials? SCWN will be informative, not directional, except for tutorials. So players will be able to understand "what, when, why, how", not just "do this, then set this, dont do that." This allows new strategies to be found by each player. There will be tutorials however, that will say "do this, that, bla bla" and refer to the encyclopedia so that players can do and understand at the same time. It will be revolutionary and awesome.
