1. New War levels Added
Three new war levels were added to Simcountry. (Not four as planned. Level 8 will be added in two weeks.) a description of all war levels will be added to the documentation ASAP. To achieve war level 7, a C3 country must be conquered that is not bordering the attacking country. The distance to the C3 country is at least 1000.

2. Improved Level checking in Federation Wars
Federation members can now attack countries with war levels 1 or 2 lower than theirs, if the attacked country is known as an aggressive warrior.

3. Affiliate Marketing
Improved menu and text for Affiliate Marketing and Affiliate Sites. The updating frequency of marketing results will be added in the next update.

4. The War Index. More help on Damage Points and on how to win a war.
The war index is an indicator for the status of your country and the country you attack during the war. After each attack, the war index of your enemy is recalculated to reflect the current situation and it may decline if your attack was successful and scored new Damage Points.
If your enemy has a war index of 55, it means that you have scored 45 damage points. If you score 100 damage points, you win the war.
The way this index is calculated was unknown and what you need to do to win a war was unclear to many. Beginners find it hard to understand.
The war index and damage-points calculation have been improved and became more transparent. When a new war is started there are two new buttons showing on the war page: "Explain the War Index" and "How to win this War". Both buttons show a popup. One shows the current damage points and how these points were obtained.
The second explains how the remaining points can we won. The information as provided on these two new pages will make it much easier to understand what was achieved and what targets are important in order to win the war.
At least ten damage points must be obtained by invading the country and conquering of at least 25 areas.

5. War Declarations
When declaring war on a C3 country, the country must be prepared for war at the required level. The process can take several seconds. A progress bar is added to explain the process.

6. Fortifications
The distribution of fortifications around the country is improved. Fortifications are now placed around the country in one or more layers, depending on the number of fortifications and the layout of the country.

7. Military Units
Military units are now about 10% smaller. This change is the first in a sequence of changes that are aimed at reducing the numbers of weapons in Simcountry, reduce the numbers of destroyed weapons and ammunition used and reduce the time needed for the buildup of a considerable force. The change will also reduce the number of soldiers and officers in the military units. The total number in the army is unchanged but more military units can be constructed without an increase in the size of the army.

8. Moving Military Units by Air
Moving military units by air became even faster due to recent changes in the capacity of transport aircraft, their speed was also increased and now again, as a result of military units becoming smaller. This change will reduce the number of flights needed to move a unit by air.

9. Navies
The max number of weapons per navy is reduced. The maximum numbers remain far too high to even resemble real world numbers but it is a first step in an effort to bring numbers down to more acceptable levels.

10. Corporations
Corporations now use an even smaller number of high level workers, especially when they are upgraded to high efficiency levels. The numbers of workers in corporations continue to increase and as published before, the process will continue at a low pace.
The profitability levels of corporations is being rechecked with every single change and corrected if needed. The profitability of all corporations is now increased.

The amount is 250B with level 1 (unchanged) and goes up to 15T in level 7.

Details tomorrow in a new issue of the game news.
This feature as all the other features in this game news is installed today.

maybe a nice addition to the war levels would be to have presidents fight other presidents? i mean at level 8 you should be more then knowledgeable able enough to wage war.

Level 8 = 1president won war
Level 9 = 3president won war
Level 10= 5president won war

so on and so forth. What ive seen is presidents vs president had much more benefit then non presidents wars. Keep a list you cant war a single president 3times and call it done you gotta win mult times with different presidents.

"Military units are now about 10% smaller."
This change is aimed at increasing the number of clicks needed to win the war. By decreasing the size of military units, and changing nothing else, they wish to increase the number of military units required to house the EXACT SAME number of weapons. Defense still requires the EXACT SAME number of weapons, just as offense. You just need to build more units and click more.

I spent about 15 minutes taking a level 5 c3. Less weapons were used but over all, the clicks seemed to be about the same except for hitting forts. 3 rounds were needed to take them out with bombers where 2 were needed in the past. All other targets seemed normal.

Other than that, I am pleased so far with the changes.

Regarding these updates: Tom you said decreasing server load was a main reason behind increasing the size of corporations. Why flip this logic on its head and reduce the size of military units, which would tend to increase server load and clicking?

Also, I'm tired of this drip / drip of gradually increasing employees in corps. Gives us 4 weeks real time notice, and finish it!

Smaller units = more units, not less weapons used. The only way to decrease the number of weapons used is to make using them more expensive. I don't think raising the purchase price will help because it is a one-time expense. Instead you have to make the maintenance costs higher... increase ammo consumption and/or manpower requirements.

Honestly though, reducing weapons used in war is a bad goal. Focus instead on reducing clicks required for war.

The amounts you receive when winning a war against a C3 country:

Level 1 250B
Level 2 500B
Level 3 1T
Level 4 2T
Level 5 5T
Level 6 10T
Level 7 15T

The amounts might be lower than the cost but the aim is not to fully compensate.
Sometimes you will make a profit sometimes a loss. Even higher war levels will produce much more cash and also Gold coins.

We also might be wrong on these numbers. Any documented experience is interesting and we will listen.

Also, the amounts are in the country when the war starts and some of it may be used by the C3 country during the war. Winning quickly will help.

The 10% reduction in the size of the units.

It decreases the time you need to purchase the weapons and ammo. It reduces the manpower by 10%.
If for some reason you decided in the past, that 20 units of some type are what you need, why would you now increase the number? The defense is also decreased by 10%. There is no reason to increase the number of units and in most cases the number of units will not increase and the change will result in smaller numbers of weapons destroyed, less ammunition used, smaller man power and the same number of clicks during the war.

Larger Corporations

The reasons were explained before. One is indeed the reduction in the number of corporations to process and mainly the trading. Another is the difficulty for many players to manage very large numbers of corporations and keeping an overview of what they have. I see no reason why not to do so.
The performance issue is not urgent. We easily process everything that needs to be processed within the time slots we have. We will also continue to upgrade and replace servers. However, we must be free to add and enhance features without any server load concerns.

If you would join the game today and see that a corporation has an average of 800.000 workers, would you protest? You would accept it as part of the game.
So what is the problem of going from an average of 190.000 to 220.000 or even 250.000 in small steps taking one real year?
In the process, we have gradually alleviated the problem with HLWs. It might be OK now or we may need another round. I hear little about it recently.

Every such change causes some shortages and we see these fixed fairly quickly, mostly automatically, in many countries.

well, i like the smaller units, but its true, that by making units smaller, you will increase the clicking. i mean, you consider the changes that were meant to make navies smaller, haven't... just made them less effective.

tom,

some people go, i want 100 air force defence wings, and the changes you made will mean they have 4k interceptors to sell off. how ever, many, many more people will say, wow, that means i can have 11 more Interceptor wings with what i had before... and thats more likely whats going to happen. but o well

and whats up with now only being able to dec on one C3 at a time?

About the navy made less effective:

the change in the navy was not implemented yet.

One C3 at a time:

was not planned and I am not sure it is true but will check.
if this is the case, we will correct it.

We will end up with much smaller units and with it much smaller armies. In the past we had attacks with 20.000 bombers at a time and 10.000 did not come back. We said at the time that this was not acceptable and reduced it.

At the time, we had the same comments as we have now but now, you want back from 360 to 400. This is a great improvement from the past.

With smaller units, C3 countries also have a reduced defensive power. We will not increase the number of military units in C3 countries because the units are smaller.

Yes, I don't see logs for the chat, I think LG is/was busy, he left chat fast after the chat yesterday. Jozi said he agrees and already wanted to add that kind of function. In the meantime, the best possible suggestion should be given while we have time before they implement it.

My example is that shuttles operate similar to Cargo Planes. In one instance I want to... say load all of my shuttles with x product. Then another instance send them all to x location, instead of one by one.

An alternative, I think may be even better and proly server friendly is where I can input x amount of y product, and then send the product and quantity itself to a location/destination with the shuttles doing the running like cargo shuttles do for disaster supplies. An example would be send 10000 lbcmissiles from my space center to my space station or whatever other space center I want them sent to. Then the shuttles move them until the task is finished, hands off.

Just makes more sense to me. And my fingers, and my mouse, and my browser cache.

Corporations are becoming larger, gradually, and employ more people.
the result will be a smaller number of corporations world wide, (already declined in the past months) and as they become larger, the business model underlying the corporations makes them proportionally more profitable on average and their market value increases.

The total revenue of corporations increased by at least 20% in the past months. The process in continuing and each week, several types of corporations increase in size and revenue.

The increase in market value is on going now for months and corporate value went up significantly.
Checking the total value of corporations, in most countries, shows a constant increase.

I just checked several countries I have in all the worlds.
4 of the 5 are doing better than before last update. the financial index is increasing, income is increasing, both from taxes as from corporations.

It is not a big jump, but it is there.
The country on FB had more problems with workers as a result of last change and I needed to change professions and will need to do it 2 or 3 times more.
The cost of the army was too high and acounted for all of the loss the country is making.

I checked several more countries and see the same.

we are not setting profit or loss numbers. They are the results of changes in the market.
we have improved some underlying parameters but we do not know exactly where it will end. we keep checking so that changes we make will not result in unwanted effects.

Corporations profit and loss depend of many factors, including the market.
we discovered some recent market manipulation by players that have more effect than what we did recently and it is not in our hands to solve it but in yours.

When we say that we have improved profitability of corporations, it means that we have slightly changed the theoretical model and the balance between revenue, cost of raw material, work etc.

This is no guarantee for immediate results but in general, sooner or later, it has the desired effect.

we do not see anything going in the wrong direction.

More on recent changes and comments by players

The change in the navies that was not implemented with the last update is now in place.
The only change is that navies can now have the maximum of 18.000 weapons instead of 20.000 before.

We acknowledge the problem with wars against C3 countries. It was not possible to declare more than one war.
we will fix this ASAP.
A C3 country can be attacked by one player only. This will remain in place.

A problem with automatic orders of products and resulting loans is now solved. If loans reach the max limit, automatic orders of strategic products are skipped.
Automatic orders of consumption products for the population and the army, continue.

Max loans is 14T. no loans are provided when the limit is reached and the country cash will go negative.

negative cash is a limiting factor for the country.

the feature will allow for the creation of packages that can be offered anywhere.

The buyer will receive a key, from the seller, that will make it possible to receive the package on the Simcountry site, into the purchaser account.

More virtual assets will be added to this first version at a later stage. example: countries, enterprises and corporations.

Yes Maestro, and the workers/education system could be automated so you never have to click to adjust it to suit the situation, the game would automatically optimise and employ your people. Likewise the health system could build the optimal number of hospitals, clinics etc, the transportation system too.

The game should select the most profitable corps and automatically build them for you, using the most ideal settings for maximum efficiency.

Just think if you didnt have to do that annoying IPOing thing, just have the game automatically IPO corps when it is most ideal, the clicks saved...wow. The entire space program could be automated too, the list is endless.

Just think how cool a game it would be...no having to make decisions, no interaction with the game, no clicking, hell, you wouldn't even have to log on unless it was to look at how many trillions of cash you have and how many GC, just sitting there in your direct trading account, untouchable by anyone...doing nothing.

Additional ideas:

Country names, these should be generated by the game with an alpha numeric format so no individuality can be expressed thus relieving the player the effort of having to think of a good name and (god forbid) actually having to click and type in the name. Same goes for corp names.

Do away with all maps, they are just useless personalisations and dont help increase your store of coins in your account.

Every monthly update the game should examine everyones direct trading account to ensure that all accounts are within 10GC and 10T cash of each other. If not the game would adjust every account to make it so, though this shouldnt be neccessary as everyone would have the same optimised economy.

I think these changes would make the game so much more challenging and fun, people would be just lining up to join. I would love to hear your opinions.

Hi Maestro2000. I think the charge is a good idea. Why would the GM want to encourage polluting the atmosphere even more than we have too? ;) Its not as-if we cant produce whats required on each of the planets. Profit should not come before our futures environment. Sure, if you need something urgent like NUKES space travel them. I would'nt mind paying a charge to The Masters of the Universe to move my Nukes or even workers around.

Ok just read your gonna fix it :)

Also you have removed the function where you dont have to go to your list of countries to be able to go to one of your countrys. Like a worker transfer. Before we could, from the worker transfer page, just click on the empire country that we have sent the worker swap too and we would be in that country with full control over it. Same with the map. Before we could be in control of one country, then goto the map, click on another empire country and it put us in control of that country.
Where now we have gone back to the old way of having to go back into the list of our countries and click on the country that we want to goto before we have control over it. Long!

The opportunity cost of money, like all normal goods, decreases with quantity. That's why, at this level, it doesn't bother me all that much that I lose a few trillions per day when I don't log in.

A less bureaucratic approach would be removing financial fees completely. Or, to make me happy, redirect the collected fees to the Security Councils Funds. KB's Council will run out of money at this rate.

lets see, some one had a brilliant idea... it was organize a couple feds on GR, they dec'd and maintained wars against every C3 on GR, so no new players could sign up for GR, and thus have some sort of leverage over W3C, to make them do, or not do what those players wanted. as many people were frustrated over changes at the time...

W3C changed the max c3 dec limit, from unlimited at the time, to 5, (one more than 4...)

atleast, thats how i remember it.

In order to gain interesting playing SC game for players, GM should respect players by giving an option which players can contact Administration. I have no idea how to get correct answers. For example: Many players give me different solutions to fix the same problem, and it turns out that their advices do not work on my country( my country is lacking of HT Excutive. The more I increase its priority, the more my country needs HT Excutive). I am Bold

I sent you a worker exchange for 25,000 HTex. That should fix that problem.

Serpent, you are so kind to me. Thank you very much. I am lacking of all HT workers. But having a lot of HT Excutive from you, I can improve other HT workers. It takes time. However, thank you SERPENT

The reason you have shortages is because of all the adjustments to the recent corporation worker requirements. Under normal circumstances all the solutions provided to you by the player would work. But the changes are independent of normal game mechanics and will upset your workers regardless of what you do.

Be patient, wait it out, and continue accepting advice from players. It is better than the docs will ever be. I find that amusing but admit it does force people to enter chat to find out what the heck is going on exactly.

If you look at your country's left menu, you'll see an option named "Contact Us". The same option is available on the Portal.
