1. Game levels and the War Index

Game level requirements now depend, among others, on the defensive and defense indexes. Starting next week, game levels will start to move into more dependency on the war index and will become less dependent on the defense indexes.

This change was announced when the new war levels were introduced. The change will be gradual. The requirements will become dependent on the war level or on the defense indexes, and one of the two will be sufficient.

As of next week, the requirements for the defense indexes will increase by 5 points for each game level. Example: level 5 now requires a defensive index of 90. Starting next week, the requirement will increase to 95.

Instead of increasing the defensive index to 95, you can also make sure your war level is 3 or higher. If the war level is 3, the defensive index and defense index requirements become obsolete.

In the coming weeks, we will gradually increase the defense indexes requirements for game levels. Increasing your war level will remove the requirement for a high defense indexes levels.

Requirement starting next week. (January 18).

Game Level 2 : War level 1 or Defensive index of 45
Game Level 3 : War level 1 or Defensive index of 60
Game Level 4 : War level 2 or Defensive index of 80
Game Level 5 : War level 3 or Defensive index of 95
Game Level 6 : War level 3 or Defensive index of 105
Game Level 7 : War level 3 or Defensive index of 105
Game Level 8 : War level 4 or Defensive index of 105 and defense Index 65.
Game Level 9 : War level 5 or Defensive index of 105 and defense Index 85.
Game Level 10 : War level 6 or Defensive index of 105 and defense Index 115.
Game Level 11 : War level 7 or Defensive index of 105 defense Index 185.
Game Level 12 : War level 8 or Defensive index of 105 and defense Index 255.
Game Level 13 : Defensive index of 105 and defense Index 320.
Game Level 14 : Defensive index of 105 and defense Index 400.
Game Level 15 : Defensive index of 300 defense Index 500.
Game Level 16 : Defensive index of 400 defense Index 600.

Each Game level requires all the conditions for the previous game levels. In time, the war capabilities and requirements for game levels will depend entirely on the war levels. The dependency on the defense and defensive indexes will become obsolete.

When playing a peaceful president, game level requirements remain as before and there is no dependency on either the defense indexes, nor any dependency on the war level.

Good to see that war levels are getting more deeply implemented. I do wonder what the next move is.

Just to make sure I understand this correctly... If a president wants to be Game level 10, then they must have EITHER war level 6 OR Defensive index of 105 defense Index 185. But if you have a Defensive index of 105 defense Index 185 you WILL NOT automatically rise to war level 6.. correct?

I'd hate to be surprised....

Also if I switch to economy mode, does this mean I cannot be declared on. Or is the status just token?

War levels change when you win wars against C3 countries.
nothing else can change your war level.

it is either reaching the war level OR reaching the dfense index levels.

In time, the required defense index levels will increase. step by step, the required defense index levels will become too high and reaching the required war level will be the way to go.

this is why i like this. players that want to just collect money, and not worry about anything, will stay at low levels. and enjoy the game peacefully. those that want to compete for monthly awards, rankings, and the SC will have to level up.

Which has been one of the big down falls of the new war level system. you have allot of players that want to play the big fed, political game. but at level 0-3, now if you want to be a top ranked player, you will have to level up, and prepare to, at the least, defend yourself.

thats how i read it, i hope i'm right.

*crosses fingers*

yes it is, and now, and when this fully kicks in, those less serious about the game can war at the lower levels,

isn't it silly to buy 150k mib, no ammo, and have a super high WI, that is entirely useless in a real fight? That may still happen, but with this change, as players level up through war levels, they can expect to become a target to a would be war lord. so now, if you want to compete for the top spots, you will level up, and prepare yourself for combat.

but if your not interested in that, then you can sit at a low level and not be bothered.

i'd still prefer that war levels be removed, but as far as keeping them, this is a good move.

What happens if a player zig zags between peaceful mode and the level chart listed above?

Do war levels remain in place?

What restrictions if any are placed on a peaceful player waring with c3's only.

ie. Can a new player in peaceful mode conquer 10 c3's and still maintain a zero war level?

well, as far as i understand it, War levels are only replacing the WI requirements, nothing else has changed, you still need FI X, and Employment X for what ever level. War levels otherwise haven't changed, and previous level up conditions haven't changed.

Regarding human players warring C3. In Game news one can read that succesfull human C3 wars will result in war-level promotion. After first war one becomes lvl 1. If you fight 2 more wars at lvl 1 you will still be promoted to lvl 2 upon the the third conquest. This was the way it went for me the last few days. After 6th victory one will be forced-promoted to lvl 3. Old players before warlevels could have been granted a articifal low warlevel despite their earlier conquests.

See Game news p 56
