Just wondering about the new changes. I'm currently upgrading my garisons and have noticed that my ammo quality has changed little. Im assuming that the new ammo comming in to supply the garisons is diluting the effect of the quality level. Are the new changes suppose to fix that? If not, what can I do to fix that? My country automatcly orders the ammo needed and as far as I know, I can't control the quality level of the ammo that automatically comes in.

If the ammo is already in strategic stock then you cant control that quality, but you can control the quality of products that your country automatically orders. Its on the Settings > Automation > Automatic Systems page.

But of course this means that everything else that your country orders will be of that same quality... even toilet paper! LOL

you might compare the cost of upgrading to the cost of buying high q weapons and ammo.

Buying upgrades and upgrading is much cheaper, but more time consuming.

It certainly is cheaper, by a long way for some things (like nuke defence). You can set wings, units, garrisons to upgrade automaticaly PROVIDING you have the upgrades in stock. Ammo and weapon quality upgrades have been added to the 'trade strategies' page but for the love of me I cant get any country to actually purchase upgrades automatically. This function was announced as active a long time ago.
If anyone else has got the auto ordering of ammo Q upgrades working please point out where I might be going wrong. Not the obvious (spending space, wrong buttons clicked etc) please.

I have noticed that before your country buys anything on auto order, it seems there has to be a positive supply of the product, or at least not a huge deficiency. And as you no doubt know, ammo/weapon Q upgrades are in very high demand.

Thanks for the reply serpent, I have noticed some things going to immediate when there is short supply and then the order disappears if not filled. This could possibly be the answer too.

People, build ammo upgrade corps! what with the max fighting level going to 300, you know it makes sense. ;)

Crafty, Your country is likly ordering the upgrades automaticly like mine is. If you are in the middle of upgrading they are likly being used up very quickly, and like me, if you are upgrading ammo, the upgrades are being used but are being diluted by the automatic orders of ammo the country puts in that your weapons need. I understand what your saying Serpent, its to bad we can't pick and choose what quality for what product we want the country to order automaticly. The only other option is to manualy order ammo the weapons need at a higher quality and make sure you don't run out or the country will order for you at a much lower quality. I'll start doing that and see what happens.... thanks for your responces !

Genltemen. Bless you all for having this conversation.

Wasn't quite certain yet how I wanted to proceed with starting to build up the warchest and this thread has been very useful.

Just one further question? Does The quality of the upgrade itself have any use or are 100Q upgrades the way to go?

And one more after that. Seems I read that stocks Q decline in countries, but how about CEO's?

I ran a couple test cases, and CEO weps and ammo Q haven't
declined for a month, but that's a short test period for SC.

I noticed, on LU at least, auto-ordering upgrades with 0 in stock still orders the upgrades regardless of country being in debt or not.

As far as the quality of the upgrade itself, testing it now, but I would think the higher the Q upgrade the better, judging by the effect higher Q has on other products. Think about it, how can a 100Q upgrade allow weapons/ammo/units to upgrade to 200Q?

Just checked my CEO and the weapons I have in stock that are Q250, for example, have been that Q for years and they haven't declined in quality.

Thank you, Gentlmen.

That confirms the results of my own experimentation; but then again, I am old.
