Shuttle Automation - Update (Golden Rainbow)

1. Shuttle Automation [ top ]
A new feature will allow you to easily transport products from any country or space station to any other location without bothering about any details. The function will use any cargo shuttles you have and move the entire quantity of product you specify to the target, using many shuttle flights if needed.

The current manual management of cargo shuttles requires many actions and becomes cumbersome when many missions are needed. This limitation prevented further development of the markets on space stations and other related features.

Shuttle automation will be introduced into Simcountry within the next two weeks.

Question for the gamemaster.

Do we have to pay to fuel the shuttle now? Or is the fuel free?

we are looking into the cost of flying the shuttles.

aging the shuttles and retiring them after 1000 flights (at quality 100), is a cost.

I'd like to see space travel as a one time cost. Build the shuttle and then you are done. No maintenance cost. Agree the only cost should be a finite number of flights.

Also I'd like to see a limit on what a shuttle can carry. Products should be limited to some new still to be named products.


Perhaps a new world can be created where we need shuttles and other space craft to travel, explore and colonize.

Let players build there own space stations.

Why shouldnt space come at a cost? Why shouldnt it be made for those who work at the game and make space possible thro being profitable.

If you gonna have war available, you should be able to fund it.If you gonna move products, you should be solvent

Lets say that you need

1 Rocket booster (20M for a single booster)
2 Maintenance units 300M for Shuttle maintenance units
100,000units of Solid missile fuel for 17K per unit

your talking 2.5B maybe per launch (those numbers are 2times the base price)

If you cant spend 2.5B per rocket launch u shouldn't be using space...

As Tommi states above, The Shuttle is a cost.

It's an asset that depreciates every time it is used. It has a finite number of trips then goes into the trash bin.

Also look at it this way. We buy and sell goods on the world market and never pay a nickel for transportation costs. (Ships, rail, trucking = zero cost)

So why should we pay for shipping in space?

Ever hear of transportation index???

Roads, Rails? You know you pay monthly to maintain them higher the Q the more it costs.

Only difference is space will be a government cost its not a big deal

1000flights = 2.5T (costs of the goods i listed above plus the shuttle)
1000flights move about 15K strat bombs (that's 225T cash)

your paying 1% of the cost of the goods to move them ACROSS THE GALAXY!!!

More you pay the more you move its not a massively big deal. Granted if you wanna see space trading there needs to be market failures. Lets say all oil corps production drops to 10% for 12months. This creates a demand for 12months for other planets to trade with it. Also add a thing like Due to new pesticides wheat corps increase production by 25% for the next year

LU = Oil...Cattle
FB = Potassium...Iron
KB = Services...Oil
GR = Construction...Wheat
WG = Aluminum...Beans <

There must be a cost involved in hauling goods between worlds. Why? Arbitrage dealing. No to little cost of transport leads to over-extensive arbitrage. A cost involved makes sure that the price difference must be big enough to be worth the hazzle.

Also, a life-long functionality of a shuttle limits the market for shuttles. With ageing there will be a more steady demand for goods that shuttles is, regardless of influx of new first-time buyers (new players).

1% cost

I wouldn't mind paying a 1% fee to move products from one world to another. But thru my ceo and not my country.

Hope this can be added to the space automation.

Skip the shuttle and go straight to a space transfer fee schedule.

Maybe 2% for express delivery.

How about making the space shuttles available to free players? That way, the people who can't go get to go, and will want to buy docking stations on the space stations. They won't have enough GC, so will buy them. Chumps lose more money, heartless corporation that runs the game gets more money.
