1. Larger Galaxy in Simcountry

The size of the galaxy is now increased by a factor of about 2.5. All the objects are now smaller and the five worlds look as if they are closer to each other but they are in fact slightly further form each other.
The change will allow us to add more objects in the near future and is also necessary as a first step, in making space war possible.

The flight time of cargo shuttle between the worlds is increased by about 20%.

2. New Product: Selenium

Selenium is now added as a new product in Simcountry. Selenium is initially traded on all the worlds and on the Space Station Lyncis. Trading will be restricted to Lyncis in about one month. Selenium is used in the production of glass but may be added to the production process of more products in the future.

The glass industry will immediately find Selenium on all the 5 worlds and will not have any difficulty in purchasing it. Countries and enterprises can purchase Selenium and it can be stored on space stations. It is also available now on the Lyncis space station.

Eventually, the glass industry will move to purchase Selenium on the space station Lyncis as trading on the world markets will stop in several weeks.

Selenium producing corporations can be setup in the White Giant and Golden Rainbow worlds. There is no Selenium production on the other worlds. Selenium can be imported by use of trading in Space stations. Direct selling and contracts for selenium can be arranged in all the worlds.

3. Name Change - Offensive Anti Aircraft Missile Batteries

Offensive Anti Aircraft Missile batteries are now called Off Anti Aircraft Missile Batteries. The missiles also have their name changed to: Off Anti Aircraft Missiles.
The reason for this name change is to make it easier to find the ammunition that matched the weapon. The previous name made it hard to find. More name changes will follow.

4. Max number of cargo shuttles per mission

The maximum number is now set to 20 cargo shuttles per mission. This was preannounced in the previous game news.

5. Conventional Missile Batteries and Missiles

Both Conventional missile batteries and conventional missiles are now traded on the space market only. This was preannounced in the previous game news and is now part of Simcountry. Contracts and direct selling between corporations, countries and enterprises remain possible on all the worlds.

6. New products expected - Preannouncement

Several rare metals will be added to Simcountry in the coming weeks. These products will be used initially in the weapon and ammunition components industry and in weapons and ammunition upgrade units.

7. Professional Army - Preannouncement

Professional soldiers and officers will be added to Simcountry in the coming weeks. These professionals will be purchased on the direct trading market and added to the country professional army. When building the army, these professionals will be the first to join and if not available, regular soldiers and officers will be recruited. The professional army members will not be added to the general population and will be kept separately as professional soldiers and professional officers.

This new feature will allow players to make their army less dependent on the workers in the country and will make the industry less dependent on the size of the army. Also casualties will be mainly in the professional group.

8. Mobile Units - Preannouncement

Mobile units will be introduced into the army in the near future. Mobile units will be smaller in size and will have the capability to upgrade to a much higher quality level then regular units.

The main feature of mobile units however, is the possibility to trade them between countries, including their weapons, ammunition, supplies and staff. The staff will be all from the ranks of the professional army.

Mobile units will be able to load into cargo shuttles and move to a space station where the unit can be traded and become part of the army of a different country and a different player.

Setting up a professional army consisting of a number of mobile units that are stationed at a space station and ready for action where and when needed, will add a strategic capability. There will be air, land and supply mobile units.

9. Remote Army Bases - Preannouncement

Remote army bases will in the near future become landing places for Cargo Shuttles. This new feature will make it possible to load entire army units or supply units and also supplies and ammunition for the army, and land them into a remote base. It will simplify the logistics of the army during war.

10. The size of army units - Preannouncement

As was announced before, we will continue the process of reducing the size of army units. The reason for this move it mainly the high cost that is involved in the war game and the huge numbers of weapons and ammunition that are used in Simcountry wars.

The changes will not alter the logic and mechanism of the Simcountry wars. The number of units will not change and the warring power of all the units will decline proportionally, maintaining the relative military power of all countries.

The only change will be the number of weapons needed and the numbers destroyed during war. Lower numbers will reduce the cost of the army, the maintenance of the army and the cost of war which was increasing recently.

When we get to it, please can you give us some more details on how aging and retirements will work within that group.

...I say....Make it simple stupid...Have the group never age or retire. Just pay for them and they are yours forever. (After buying them, pay a monthly maintenance fee)

i suppose that multi-world players will have an advantage, but just because some one gets an advantage, it doesn't mean that its unfair. i really wish players in sim country will stop thinking that any advantage some one has, over another is "unfair,"

Well i bought 2docks now ur telling me i invested in the wrong docks? can something be done to where i get my money back

The professional army will be paid for once and it will remain as long as they are not dead in war.
no aging at all. It will be assumed that aged soldiers are replaced by young ones. There will be no cost for this "Replacement".

There will be a monthly cost for salaries and maintenance and it will be based on the total number you have.

They will not be added to the general population. moving them to another world or in case they die in fighting, will have no consequences to the general population.

Playing multiple worlds

It has some advantages as you can move products around more easily and trade everywhere.

It also has the disadvantage that requires you to pay the gold coins for the second empire.

having a partner or several partners in other worlds will give you the same advantages as multiple empires and using the space market and direct markets will allow you to get everything you want with a single empire.

we will be very careful to prevent any difficulty in getting the products you need for the population. The system of automatic orders that prevents manual ordering will continue to work for all the products you need.

the differentiation between the worlds will be limited to the possibility to produce some industrial products, weapons and such. never in the common group of products used by the population or products the are used in very large quantities in many products.

Thanks Tom, that's great about the no-aging. I do, however, hope that the salaries of mercenaries will be on a parity with drafted soldiers and the 'maintenance' cost won't be prohibitively high ... or that, if it is, we can expect these soldiers to fight much more effectively.

I feel the direction the game is taking with the space thing will turn the five worlds into 5 "Continents".

Not a terrible thing actually.

So why not fast forward the game and fully automate space trading. The same way we buy on the world market. Setup a space trading market where countries and ceo's can buy/sell directly from different worlds. Add a percentage fee to the trade and call it a day.

Maestro got a good point.

Cross world contracts via GM transport (for a fee) would be the next logical step (and as Meastro suggesteted direct trades). It will reduce micromanagement somewhat as-well, with cross-worlds supply chains.

I don't see the fun in putting product on a "Space barge" and shipping to another world or space station.

Heck on each world we have the world market. The world market helps us skip the micromanagement of shipping the goods. (No trucks, no trains, no barges, no ocean liners, no fedex packages)

Why not set up transportation companies? They do all the transportation on the world market, and then on the space market. You'll need trucks, staff, etc, on the world market, cargo shuttles on the space market. How fast delivery is depends on how many of these units are available.

Then again, I'm more for removing 'black holes' which send money to GMs (game money, not real!)

They ever think on expanding the nuke power idea?

What about sea transportation?
They are just like air trans only cost less. They can be the nuke power of the transportation. Coast countries get seaports. Much like airports so they can send relief though supply ships(they can also send much more then air trans. Also think a freind navy must be within 3000KM of a (freindly) seaport to resupply making seaports a global use much like depots. plus then u add so that supply ships can hold like 1000weapons = those naval trans. Theres alot the GM can expand on
