Nope.

I have had the same problem. Profits are okay but more money than I am making is being pumped in to corps and it's costing a small fortune each month.

Same thing here.

The listed profits appear to be false. Supply (or salary) costs appear to be about 12.5% higher than what is reported. It is very difficult to track without having the 'server-side' interface to see all the data, but using a new corporation that had no sales and one world month production, it appeared that this was the cause.

On top of that, if enterprise profits are falsely high, then the 'Enterprise Tax' would also be charging extra.

Here is an example:
An enterprise called "Good, Bad and Ugly"" say has about 500 corporations.

"The Good"
Each corporation is doing OK, but not great, and say they make about 4.5B SC$ in sales per world month (about 54B SC$ per world year).

Costs are "reported" at say 4B SC$ per world month, for a "profit" of 0.5B SC$ (or 500M SC$).

OK, so that looks pretty good, and the enterprise then would have 500 of those corporations, and would report monthly profits of about 250B SC$.

The 'Enterprise Tax' then would charge some amount, probably around 50B SC$. So, you would think that things are going reasonably OK, you are making 250B SC$ gross (enterprise) profit, then 200B SC$ net (enterprise) profit.

At six 'spins' per [earth] day, that's about 1.2T SC$ net cash increase, and you'd probably be pretty happy with that result.

"The Bad"
But, what actually appears to happen, is that "costs" are under-reported, probably from the supplies purchases (though salaries could be a factor also).

In the same case, what you would have is, the 500 corporations actually spending about 12.5% more on supplies/salaries, which would raise the "actual" costs from 4B to 4.5B SC$ per world month, and that would then equal the sales total, making --0-- profit per corporation.

Total enterprise profit would then also be --0--, but, since the enterprise falsely over-reports profits, the 'Enterprise Tax' still charges you the 50B SC$, so you end up losing that amount.

At six 'spins' per [earth] day that's about 300B SC$ losses to enterprise cash.

"The Ugly"
The difference then, between the two would be +1.2T SC$ (should have received) vs -300B SC$ (actually paid), for a total net loss of about 1.5T SC$ per [earth] day.

("..and, not as Ugly...")
In the case of 4 'spins', the numbers would just be reduced by 33% both ways, so total losses would be about 1T SC$ instead.

0% profit payment is better
If you want the money you must get the power.
So if you have stuff that don't have power you can't get the money
first you get the power then come the money never forget that
stop at 300 quality any more and you waste the money
also the power does cost some aka upgrades

We checked many corporations and we see no systematic problem.
there was also no change recently that could cause this.

short term, corporate profit does not correlate to corporate cash.
Long term it does.

Corporations buy raw materials in large quantities and also, the cost of upgrades goes off the cash, not influencing the profit.

We will keep watching it.

So Tom, what would you put 4 enterprises going from profitable with no cash flow issues to still profitable but losing billions and products which sold with no problems on a commonly used trade strategy now do not sell for several months?

It isn't the purchase of raw materials which has caused these problems and it isn't upgrades being bought.

I am now losing several trillion a day and I would like to know why.

At least Enterprise Tax looks correct this time. I haven't done anything which affects cash flow since my previous set of figures were posted - this means that my LU enterprise has lost approximately 1.4T in just over 24 hours. As I mentioned before, this problem has been going on for some time now and on 3 different worlds. The cost runs into trillions - I hope Laguna is right and the lost cash is returned, but somehow I doubt it very much. After all, we haven't even had acknowledgement of a problem, nevermind an apology or a pledge to fix it as soon as possible.

Hence it would appear that the problem doesn't really exist, only that you are transferring a lot of money to your corps. Maybe you have profit transfer too high? A lot of corps there are still young and spending cash on upgrades.

My memory is unparalleled, uncannily photographic is more like it. I'm not sure why. It could be because I haven't been at any college parties in years and I don't get contact highs anymore. Everyone may not recognize you, but I probably would lol.

You "think" we all wouldn't recognize

My wise father always told me, "Thinking comes from not "knowing"

Well I know you aren't American, LuLz

Corporations bought, closed or moved and Enterprise Tax -221.14B SC$

Why is there not a histogram for this value.

I have a very strong suspicion that this is a possible cause of cash drain on CEOs across the board. Maybe not the only source, or everyone's source but for sure a problem.

The absence of a histogram only adds to the suspicion.

I have a number usually in the 200b+ range every month.

I have not bought closed or moved any corporations for as far as my eyes could see.

Is this ONLY my enterprise Tax showing up? If so what is the percentage of tax, where can be found if at all in the documentation(old or new). And why does this value not have its own column. Someone took the time to add it to the previous value it stood for, why not make a separate one in order to avoid confusion.

Also it appears that when you fill certain supplies for corps to 60 months supplies @100 quality, the quality seems to jump back to around the default value for all corp supplies when it reaches back down to 20 months. I don't know how this is the case or how it is accomplished but I doubt my supplies are increasing in quality like that without some hidden charge to justify the change. I have noted this several times. I will try and note it again and post whatever information possible.

Hey Wendyloo,

Solaris used to be known as Kiteless. He was a member of mine, bobo and blue's fed for a while several years back when we were Nueva Vida. He is a brit brat lol I've always known him to be nice, however, I did raise an eyebrow recently when he jumped in on an argument I was having one day with Josias, which was a question if I still thought you were Wild. Never knew him to be confrontational before, so it threw me off guard. Funny how quickly that spread around...... but YOU got that I was speaking hypothetically and not literally....... meaning, do we really know who anyone is.

I have heard through the grapevine that Klar is back in the game somewhere. Then again, who is Klarina? I've given up trying to figure out who is who. The two certainties I have in this game are who I am and who Blue is. lol

Wendy, the only contact we have previously shared is when you made the mistake of thinking I was someone else. I have an excellent memory as I shall demonstrate below.

"Thinking comes from not knowing".

I'm not Klarina... or Steeleknife

Notice how CC called me "Kite" earlier in this thread?

Having said all of that, you raise some good points about enterprise tax.

I've concluded that Solaris, given his defense mode when asked if he/she maybe is someone else, is Klarina, SteeleKnife, and Wildeye's....

no denying it now Lol!

and for the record, it has always been my position that Akasha was simply Wildeyes in disguise. You know build an account, then absorb it when it grows to be worth something. A shot in the dark.

Anyways I blame the whole derailment of this thread on SolarSteelEyEs

I still think you need to look at why you are transferring so much cash to corps. Your actual sales figures seem ok, are they? you say a lot isnt selling. You could try maximizing corp cash and then you should have no transfers going on for some months even if they all sell zip. Publics shouldnt effect this because I'm pretty sure the Ent doesnt transfer any cash to them regardless.

I'm not saying it is the case, but in the past I have found that the GM doesn't respond to concerns which are actually misinterpretations of the figures or us doing something wrong. Ask them a direct question of how something works and you'll normally get an answer.

I'd rather look for something else to play and then close all of my countries and enterprises. Something isn't right and I lack the inclination to find out why.

...the cost of upgrades goes off the cash, not influencing the profit.

So, "upgrade costs" alone could account for enterprise net cash (losses) of anywhere from -600B to -1T SC$ per [earth] day, for 4 or 6 'spin' worlds, respectively, even when a large enterprise (500 corporations) is reporting "net profits".

I have cut profit transfer to zero... more out of curiosity than anything else.

And yes, that is a valid point about upgrade costs.

I wish my loser corps would just close down, instead of sucking my tits dry. I really don't have that much patience to close 70 corps one by one in 10 enterprises.

Really i am not losing as much as all of you and my enterprises are now making money and giving me cash, my enterprise on 75B, but thanks to my dividends i have a good amount comming in, i guess if you ipo more than 3\4 of them you will see less profit transfers. That is why I try to IPO all corporations.

Right on LG, I made this point when they introduced the feature.

It is just another cash sucking mechanism. Like we all don't have enough of those lying around here.

I awlays want to play a game of skill to win and not to be based on chance. If a game is based on how much time is spent administering one's empires etc. then that is not a satisfying event in life, whether you're at the bottom or at the top.

I'm currently only playing one country because of the time issue. A leader of a bigger empire or CEO would have more administrators to carry out one's policies, not to administer them oneself.

Yes I almost died trying to keep up with a 14 country empire on LU.

Then they made everywhere else I went to faster lol.

If the game were stable, then I'd be okay with all the maintenance.
