I thought you had to choose to move up a war level when you declared war. It gives you the option of fighting one level above where you are or fighting at the level you are currently at. If you choose the latter, your war level remains the same. if you choose the former, your war level moves.
I just fought a C3 war at War Level 2 and it moved me to War Level 3. How did this happen? The instructions on the declaration page even say choosing War level 3 is what moves you up.

Zentrino, I believe that only applies when transitioning from WL 3 and 4.

below wl3, if you take enough C3s, it will increase you to WL3, after that, you must choose to raise your level.

i can't remember the exact numbers, but its like at WL0, the first one raises you to 1, then 2 more will auto raise you to 2, and then 3 more will auto raise you to 3. again, can't remember the exact numbers, but you get the point.

The ridiculousness of this is that there is nowhere in the documentation how this is supposed to work. Just another guessing game. Pathetic.

But doesn't WL3 mean I now must buy defense? I have 7 countries now. In the first 6, I sold all of the defense first thing. I don't own a single defensive arm except whatever there may be in the new C3 I just took. How am I supposed to prepare for that without notice?

This feature was supposedly intended for FB as well, unless I missed something.

honestly, if i was W3C, i'd be exceptionally embarrassed at the condition of the documentation and lack of good guides.

Aren't you protected from attack at WL 3 or below? I thought you could only be attacked by another president (at WL4) if you were at WL4 or above. ???

Wendy: What's even more ridiculous is that what is presented when you declare war is that you are given a choice to level up or not. Then, regardless of which choice you make, you may level up anyway.

Goth: Maybe I am wrong. I thought WL 3 is when you could be attacked. Does anyone know for sure? It is level 4 then I am less upset about it. I was worried I had just opened my completely undefended empire to attack.

You can be attacked at WL 3.
You're going to have to buy war protection now. Have fun :/

Yeah, this is problem. The only way to read out this rule is to check to news of the day gamelevels went live. There this calculation mode is stated. Its however not obvious that it the way WL is calculated onwards thou :/

W3C has commented this once before if a i recall correctly... dont expect any hugs nor changes from there :/

Why is it wrong for f**ks sake?
Lordie, this is a game with an element of WAR!!!
If you want to stay below WL3 then do good econ and BUY your goddam countries. If you want to take them by force, why should you be protected for free. JESUS, get a freaking grip.

Play SC or bugger off to cybernations.

I always wondered why anyone was protected by war levels. I thought that wasn't the intent. That is pretty much all that has resulted.

It is Wrong because this was intentionally added to deceive people into moving up the war levels while it appears they actually have a choice.

Why if you want an extra c3 or need workers, should you be moved up war levels. What kind of penalty is that. Is it his fault for taking a c3 or W3C for not really making players aware of the consequences.

This feature was intended for FB only as the game news stated, how did it travel to LU?

It was stated for game wide. FB has slightly different rules about WLs above 3.

War levels are supposed to reflect the war ability of the president. If you have taken 4 or more C3s then you have proved an ability and so earn the ranking. Higher war levels give you better results from C3 taking too. Either play along with the war game or dont. Buy your countries or buy the WP with your savings from not warring, or play the full game and do the war thing. What more do you people want? To log in and everything is tickety-boo with an extra 10T every day and hey, you dont even have to join to get it. /me facepalms.

Dont bring up the different WLs for the same account on different worlds, thats an entirely different discussion.

taking a c3 and fighting people are worlds apart. In theory and in action. It was a mistake to equate the two.

If the point of war levels was to indicate ability the entire idea should have been scrapped from the door. Because you have plenty of superbly capable presidents that reside at level 0 using it as free war protection.

Indeed. Why the GM allowed peeps to claim WL0 from being super-powers is beyond me.

Crafty; I meant the surprise of it was wrong, not the WLs or anything else. It's wrong because it can catch a person offguard, like it caught Zentrino.

War level "0" in my book was setup for new players and econ players only interested in playing under a peaceful setting. A plus for the game.

Perhaps when the exchange rate stabilizes the "0" war players will unretire their war machines. Or for other sinister reasons....

I have no problem with auto-leveling up--provided they tell you that is going to happen. On the war declaration screen, you are given the option of fighting one level up--so you can move up a level---OR---fighting at your current level so you can expand your empire. This is exactly what it says. Go dec on a C3 and see for yourself. If you choose the latter, it does not tell you that you will be leveled up anyway.
I don't have any problem buying defense. I would have moved to level 3 eventually. But would I really have moved to level 3 just a few days after selling every defensive arm in my entire empire? Now, I get to spend the next week or two spending Trillions on defense that I had no idea I would need today.
That is what is wrong with it.

yea, if i was W3C, i'd be ashamed of the condition of the documentation and guides.

W3C should do 2 things.
Post it during the dec

Option 1 = War @ lvl 3
Option 2 = War @ lvl 2 and expand empire(Please note warring 2 more nations @ lvl 2 will automatically move you to lvl 3)

Also add something like. You cannot revert to old war levels once you have moved up. Countries are protected from presidential attacks until war level 3.

At least then people have a clue.

------and make C3 more affordable------

210GC = 42T SC cash. I mean come on Really?.

If anything Start at 100GC, each country after that increase by 25GC.

Country 1 - 100GC (20T)
Country 2 - 125GC (25T)
Country 3 - 150GC (30T)
Country 4 - 175GC (35T)
Country 5 - 200GC (40T)
Country 6 - 225GC (45T)

Thats seems reasonable in the end 6countries will cost 195T which is 10times(if not way more) then it costs to war.

Its to expensive to play econ(buying countries anyways)

It would seem reasonable to make c3s as expensive as it would cost to take one, say at level 3.
