From the Arrrgggh thread:

The fors:

BC
EC
CrazyEye
CC
Greenpaws
James the Fair
SSRCP
P.J.Max
Open Sesame
Accordion This
Homerdome
ZentrinoRisen
Gothamloki
Serpent
Keto
Solaris
Woad
J.Skullz
Quetzalcoat

The against:

Hymy1
Psycho Honey

Undecided:

Josias.

That tallies as 19 for, 2 against, 1 abstainer.

A few points have been raised, see the other post.
1) A country could be snatched from the original attacker - I would suggest maybe make it like a C3 where only fed members could join in the war against the inactive. And remember once you have taken a country it comes with a certain amount of free WP to allow you to protect it or dismantle it, sell it, whatever.

2) For newer players, I'm going to make this public knowledge, the very maximum debt that you will take over from a captured country is 2T SC$, regardless of how much debt it is in now. Easy to recover, 2 or 3 million population transfered to your own countries cost that. Weapons easily cover that etc etc.

3) Time the country should go on being inactive before it can be decced (assuming secured or <WL3). Just my thoughts here, use up all WP available, thats what it is for, all countries accumulate WP for vacation time or whatever reason the president has, more could be bought but that would null the inactive status anyway. After any WP has expired, the country gets 2 additional weeks, so you have at least a month to log in again or more if you planned a long break and bought enough WP previous to going.

There must be other points, and maybe you want to say your bit?

Blue? Lorelei? Smokes? Jojo? Laguna? Brian? Neidy? Parsifal? all of you...

There was a majority for War Levels to begin with. Look how that turned out.... Actually it was most of the fors on the list.

Why waste the time and effort undoing something that will likely cause more problems than it solves other than satisfying someone's greedy appetite for O.P.P.

A waste of valuable engineering time and resources given the long list of chores already past due.

Put me down as 'against' please, Crafty.

If someone has paid for an account for a period of time, it is theirs to do with as they wish. I don't agree with people's empires being raided if they have had a family crisis / had to go into hospital unexpectedly / their PC has blown up etc.

I'm not sure how long free-to-play accounts stay active for, if the president doesn't log on, but I do see that differently and it might be something to look into ...

Hugs and respect

In the days of old, if a fed member went inactive with no word, our fedmates would take over the countries and hold them for a period of time until such a time they returned or were definately determined 'gone' from the game. This is why I encourage players to join federations and contribute. While I can understand Jo's position, I think that the countries should be able to be decced on. After all a couple of years back, the same happened with Bobo on two occasions. His computer broke at home, he tried to keop up WP going to the library and such, despite this his main on FB went out of WP, and his main was taken from him by the 3Ms, despite negotiations to halt the takeover. I don't know why anyone else should have this protection. Bobo certainly didn't.

I will vote in favor, CC. Please put me down as 'FOR'. Thanks.

Thanks people.

Just one note to Wendy, it was always the case before war levels that an inactive could be 'taken'. I cant see its a lot of time and effort to implement. It always worked before, I reckon its just a consequence of the war level system (which is here to stay we are told) that wasn't forseen.

Smokes, are you for or against?

For it. I got a suggestion probably a bad one but here it goes. Auction the country off if its a secured main and inactive for a long time. This way the person gets gcs for it and the country doesn't goto waste. Or make it so a week before the account cancels the country auto jumps to wl 3.

I like SirsmokesAlot idea, the one before this post, both ideas he put forth are fair and resonable.
