Ok, so after being pissed off about certain things latly with the war engine.. Wendy, yes it did come true lol. The GM decided to hit some of my countries with earthquakes. A light one on FB.. not to bad. But i got hit with a major on KB as well. Funny though.. they managed to fuck that up as well. I went to my main on KB and saw this:

November 26 3055, a Major Earth Quake occurred in Shuttle Command.
The Major Earth Quake was felt in your country as well.

So.. naturaly i went to my country on KB Shuttle Command.. and saw..... absolutly nothing has occured. Thank you GM for proving my point. Now i gusse i got to wait for more mass destruction LOL.

no one else thinks my post is funny... or worried they will get an earthquake LMFAO.. chickens... come on.. its all good. I... in my entire being a part of this game(over 2 years) has NEVER seen a country attacked(by gm) by a MAJOR earthquake... and it didnt happen in that country.. only the close one of mine felt it.... apperently and the news.. in red ..PAINTED ALL IN RED) was a neighboring country of mine.. so i checked the the country that had the suposed MAJOR quake(mine) and it was.. well fine... no red post no disaster... what the fuck.. (sorry.. me post strong words... me thinks appropriate ).. GET MY DRIFT??

precisely, drifting continents cause earthquakes. me being a geologist of course.LOL

However, Id find it incredible if every country in the game was eligible for an earthquake depending on how appeased the gods (the GM) felt against a particular player. I thought there was supposed to be an an element of randomness. If not, were all living in fear!!!!!!

FWIW two of the six earthquakes on WG this year have happened in countries whose capital is named "Invictus". The earthquake god laughs at those who think they are masters of their fate.

if you don't set up the disaster relief you loose pop
most of it can come from country goods
but
you will also need
paper
machine parts
industrial equip
electric comp
electronic comp
cargo planes can move relief items from one country to another
its faster to buy off your companies
so if you have a
book
industrial equip
computer or cars or something like it
you can just buy what you need
all country owned

I love "immediate buying". I often think it's worth the extra money.

Disasters are sometimes retaliatory, I think. Not for what you say, but for what you did or did not do in your country. A lot of unemployed and no new corporations? A serious drop in defense index?
Serious financial difficulties that are not being worked on? I too have had several quakes recently.

If you think earthquakes are single point events then you are unfortunatley misguided. They are always followed by aftershocks which may be as strong or stronger than the first one and can occur for weeks after the initial event. However, the worlds don't seem to have defined plate tectonic boundaries, hint hint.

I notice we get hit by earthquakes, but not a lot of other natural disasters.

Pollution gets so bad, other natural disasters become extinct in the year 3000.
