Rent should not be 5 but instead should be more realistic number. I and many others think that rent should be 17 gold coins a month. Reason being is that if someone rents a port for one full year it would be equal to the amount of buying one. 17*12 is 204 Gold coins a year and it costs 200 to buy one so this seems to be fair. Also we can do a fair price rent system, where the owner can choose to rent the station port anywhere from 5 gold coins a month to a max of 20 Gold coins a month, this way people can choose which person to rent from and players renting them can know they got the gold coins they are asking.

Also the rent can not change until a new person rents it out. Also if a person does not pay their rent any products in the space station are transfered over to the owner of the space port. Just like in real life if someone does not pay their rent for a storage space the materials inside now belong to the owner of the storage space.

And they lose their space port for not paying their rent. :)

Or.... keep the rent at 5 and lower the cost to buy a docking station. Space trading is quiet enough as it is without making rental more expensive.

i agree with Solaris. i'm still trying to figure out the economics of the space program and as most of us, will be driven to the program because it will be a central part of the game. and 5gcs is for just one port. and how many of us will just be able to buy one port. as i understand it we have to have the capacity to trade on several stations for different products. so, in order to be viable we may need 5 or 6 stations instead of one.

and at the moment is anyone even making one port at 5gcs work. i'd be interested to see which ones of you are making a go of it.

More rent sounds good to me. Maybe I'll become a landlord.

If a person leases, they should get an automatic notice a few days before the rent is due. That way the player has a clear choice to make, and enough time to make it.
Or at the start of the lease, maybe a box to check for automatic renewal or automatic termination.
I bought a few things, which is what I would lease for. After a few days of learning the ropes and doing a few buys, I terminated the lease.
But if you are going to sell, leases seem a mighty expensive way to go.

I for one won't be renting if it's increased to something stupid like 17gc a month.

I do however agree with Solaris and Parsi on this matter.

Stay or cancel.

They could liberalize it too.

Raise it, just eliminate the need to rent to buy.

Interesting, and i will keep bumping this to get a response. I bought a space dock several months ago for 200GC's if not at least a year ago. was rented by someone named "ErichHonecker" i had no way to contact him to tell him i want it back for my own use, he was inactive(several real months now). Now i see his name has been changed.. to.. get this "W3c.ErichHonecker"
so.. what does that mean?? I will never EVER get my space port back?????? THIS IS not the first time i have said this on this forum. And as i look at the space station, it not just me that have docks rented to W3C inactives. There also W3C inactives renting to W3C inactives..
Please get it strightened out already!
