Resently you removed the restriction on population allowing them to contunie postive growth and some empires inject popo and keep growing to 200M a few are almost 300M

The Question is will this be fixed or is this a new update. Personally i n others want to add more pop and have larger nations but the fear is that an update will come and kill them some clearifaction would be helpful

one person had a brith of 200K a year and deaths around 3.3M but was growing @ 25K a month or so.

If this is going to be allowed im sure everyone will jump on the band wagon... the question is if we do it now will the rules change later?

Thats why im asking for GM comment on the future of population growth ect

Max population is now at 300M.
at that level, population should decline quickly as the birth rate becomes very low.

you cannot get to these numbers by natural growth.
we have just made sure that if you purchase population, it is not dying off.

To prevent population from declining, we have fixed the 0-4 group and do not allow it to decline unless you are selling population.

if you are selling population, the natural decline will go into full force and will continue for a long time. You could be 20M lower before it stops or you could purchase several millions in population to compensate for the sale and go back to stable numbers.

small declines can continue however, due to natural death in all age groups. babies and kids but also adults can die before old age and this continues but these numbers are small.

the largest decline in the past was caused by reduced birth rates. This is no longer a problem.

The numbers on the population pages can be incorrect when the population is very large. we will have to adapt the formulas to reflect these corrections.

There are no plans to reduce the max population. It will remain at 300M for some time until we see how many are testing this limit and run some tests of the game model with larger numbers.

I was happy testing some of the numbers by pushing higher with my country.

One of my countries has a 271m population.

Are you saying that the 0-4 age group will not be held steady beyond 300m?

I'm concerned about what will happy either side of the maximum population.

I shall hit 300m in a few weeks without buying any more pop.

So... those game-mechanics allowing pops to grow naturally to 300m is working as intended Andy?

Read my last comments. natural growth will not get you to 300M.

David
Your population may be growing a little because the age groups are not balanced.
check the individual age groups.

population at the level of 270M is not growing naturally. The only possible growth is by purchasing population which again, can distort the balance and changes may occur for weeks after the purchase before a new balance is restored.

Andy,

I'm not sure what you replied to me regarding my post above but I know my population isn't growing naturally and hasn't done since about a population lower by 200m than it is now.

I only had one question posed: "Are you saying that the 0-4 age group will not be held steady beyond 300m?".

My comment "I shall hit 300m in a few weeks without buying any more pop." referred to the rebalancing of, as you say, "Your population may be growing a little because the age groups are not balanced".

If the 0-4 age group will be held steady for a population over 300m then I'm completely satisfied and I will have no concerns.

What I was saying is that the current max population of 300M will persist in the coming months and population will not grow much beyond 300M.

this means that the age groups will be limited to numbers that will add up to about 300M and will not grow.

My advise is to stop purchasing population when reaching close to 300M because the added population will be lost.

once we see how all this works and how many such countries are popping up, we may start a test at our offices and see how the model works with 350M or 400M.
we may then allow the max population to grow further.

Instead of going 300M+ in one country, you could go 290M in many countries if you like the results of the first one.

"NiAi

Yes, this is also what ive understood from W3C statements, however, game is full of countries 100m+, some also even stated in this thread, that they are having natural growth towards 300m. We are wondering if this de facto growth is working as intended as we also should jump on that bandwagon. If ive misunderstood something here please tell me.

Countries with a population of 70M+ will not grow to 300M without purchasing population.
There is no natural growth beyond the natural maximum.
I am not sure where this natural maximum is, probably lower than 70M.

100M+ will stay there or grow a little until the age groups are balanced (or decline a little) and then stabilize.

in the past, they used to decline back to the natural growth maximum.

Natural maximum seems to be about 60M
