As published on our planned updates, there will be an upgrade of maps in Simcountry.
There will be more maps, more possibilities to zoom in and see more details and as a result, also easier war maps.

The small map as it shows on your country home page will remain largely unchanged. It will become possible to drag it left and right or up and down and see a larger area and there will be a new map that will show the country and all its neighbors.

However, the major change will become visible when you zoom in.
A new larger window will open, showing a very large map and it will make it possible to zoom several times and see your country and it neighbors in all details.

These large maps will also be used during war and will make it possible to see your own country and the countries you fight in many details. The possibility to open multiple maps in multiple windows and see other countries, close by or far away will make it much easier to have an overview of the war.

The large maps will be around 2100 x 1600, larger than most screens. Clicking on the map and dragging it in all directions will allow you to see the entire map.

This change is complex as it requires the generation of many new maps and many content files that are dynamically updated describing all the roads, railroads and all other objects on the country maps including all military units.
These content sets must be recomputed on the fly as they dynamically reallocate these objects as you zoom in or out.

A similar transformation will change all our region maps, the continents and the world map that will also allow multiple zoom levels and will show details that are not showing now on these maps.

Work is proceeding and we expect major updates to take place before the end of this year.
