I'm in process of transferring ownership of state corps to my enterprises via IPOing. I have had consistent problems with the trades due to long delays executing both sell orders (issued via country Shares screen) and buy orders (issued via enterprise Shares screen).

As a result... foreign country funds are ordering and are allowed to buy up the shares while my enterprise buy orders sit and sit.

This is currently a major problem on GR.

GMs, please look into it.

And just for sake of clarity:

I'm first issuing 2,000,000 shares as first IPO.

Run! (and I mean run) to my enterprise, and immediately request to buy 2,000,000 shares of that company.

...THEN I wait... and wait... The orders show on both shares screens as being placed, but don't show up in Demand or Supply columns for the corp... wait... then the shares show as traded. Sometimes, I'm able to buy all 2,000,000, sometimes not. Ok, no problem...

Then, while still in the enterprise, request to buy 30,000,000 shares of the corp... Watch as it's listed as a buy request, but don't see it show up on the Demand column.... again wait... and still waiting but I am noticing that the demand for the shares is slowly creeping up by few thousand shares every few seconds... but MY 30,000,000 share buy order is still not showing up in the demand.

It's now at about 9.blah million shares demanded... I'm assuming these are buy requests from country funds. Where are my requests? Why are they taking so long to be executed, and why are other orders allowed be executed while mine are waiting in trade-purgatory?

I don't know where you live, but here on the East Coast of the US, we have to wait until after midnight to do our IPO's. That is when the fourth day is finished on GR.

I have never had a problem IPOing on GR. WG is far worse for unexpected IF involvement. But so long as you do it at the right point in the month, and know how to shake off IFs, it's not a problem. Sure, sometimes the market freezes while the server updates other aspects of the game, but it's no biggie. The worst time to do it, though, is around midnight GMT (7pm EST?).

I doubt you will get much sympathy from the GMs Gothamloki. They don't approve of IPOing being used to get around the max corp limits and they're not going to make it any easier for us. Dan (Treasurer) used to complain very loudly on the forum and in emails to them about it, and the only thing that they did was ban him when he got too enraged.

Hugs and respect

Jo

I figured as much... I just needed to vent a bit of steam after losing 20% ownership in three different corps... I can understand if everyone's orders freeze, but I watched as demand for the stock went up, while my order remained unregistered for almost three game weeks. So as soon as I sell, their 9 million orders get in before mine is finally put through. Very frustrating. But most of the time it works fine... so, I'll chock it up to the cost of doing business... thanks for the replies... I think it was occurring around that 7pm EST hour... (Central Jersey here, CM.)

I never tried the time of the month scenario; I learned something. However, after midnight for Jersey and Carolina, there are no interruptions, no IF's to deal with, (except for a dead period from 5 till the hour until 5 after the hour). Good luck Gothamloki.
