1. Uploading Icons to customize Simcountry Objects.

A new feature is now available, making it possible to upload your own icons for all objects on the Simcountry maps.

You can now add your own icons to the available ones on the map pages and choose the icon you want for each city, corporation, fortification etc. Each uploaded icon will be available, automatically, to the entire empire.

To avoid any possible confusion during war, the war maps will not be changed and will always show the standard set of icons.

2. Gold Coin Trading

Gold coin trading is now restricted to transactions between players. Obtaining gold coins from the game itself remains possible by various means. Players can win monthly awards for high ranking (the number of these awards is increasing), by improving their country economy and moving to high game levels (more game levels will be added), by winning wars against higher level

Sound. I can live with those. Except........ unlike you lot I and probably most of us are not on-line alot of the time. So this 'Gold coin trading is now restricted to transactions between players.' can only cause problems if there is none for sale on the direct market and I need some NOW to allow access to my countries to go to war (to earn some). Remove the limit on request so at-least if I need a couple of GC's I can buy them regardless of the cost. This means you should also allow direct trade even with a country/enterprise thats expired.

What say you Andy?

Regarding the game news of restrictions of gold coins: Does this mean direct trading of gold coins will end?

Basicly what your saying is that even though I have lots of game cash, and lets say I have already did everything that could earn me more GC's and I have 5 empires to support, I would need to bring out my plastic and renew my membership even though hypothetically I have 2 months left just to get GC's to pay for my extra empires?

Nobody will be willing to sell now, but i gusse you figured that out.

Seriously? After months or even years on building multi empires on several planets, people will be reluctant to sell or give them up. BUT are being forced to do so if they have no options left.

Why? And how is this good for the people that play Simcountry?

+1 on all updates except that of gold coins, i do like the custom map objects.

Also Homerdome ^ what you said above is what I have been trying to get premium players to see for the past week. Crafty has called it spam but I was not SPAMing I was trying to get the issue across and now it seems finally some people get what this means. For the life of me no one wants to sell their gold coins, I have even offered 90B for them but still no one wants to sell. I even offered a solution, where the gold coins price limitations are removed. With the GM out of the market this has caused a hoarding of go coins because no longer will peaceful empires or enterprises will be able to get gold coins except by rewards but once this is over than what. The answer is simple pull out your credit card like you said. Crafty if you thought I was SPAMing just wait when more premium players request gold coins and other premium players do not give them up.

So let me get this straight: gold coins will still be necessary to function in the game; gold coins will be traded between players, but only creatively, thru unofficial channels. The direct trade page will still cap the open market trade at79B/coin. If this is so, I can foresee the day when players would rather pay more in RL cash to each other than to the GM, just on principal.

I'm sick of seeing Wl become harder, and produce less cash.

I remember WL 6 giving out 10T. Wl7 @ 12T etc etc.

Now, they added stealth wings to wl7, we get hit up to our arses and 8T for our effort.

Pretty sure that once we get around WL15, WL7 will be twice as hard, and eventually reward us with 2T. I bet they'll be nuking us and we'll be EXPECTED to defend ourselves from them ><

A bright future for the war game it seems.

I just got to war lv 6 and only got 6T for it, i though it was more like sunny said, it was only 6T, that is not enough to cover the costs of of future wars and takes up most of the cost of the war just on ammo.

Dude it's $4 dollars a month you probably spend more on energy drinks in a given month. Do not be so cheap.
