1. Space Stations changes and Mobile Units Trading

The transportation products from the space station Crucis are now traded on the space station Corvus. Both stations had very thin trading and a small number of products.

The space station Crucis is now home to The Mobile Units Market and will be used for the trading of such units.

2. Mobile Units

The first mobile units have been defined in Simcountry but cannot yet enter the operational stage. The units will be added in the coming weeks and their exact definition and operational capabilities will be published. The first two mobile units are described in this document.

Mobile Land Units

Mobile land units have the size of a brigade and include both attack weapons and defensive ones. The fighting quality of the unit can reach a level of 500. The total size of the unit is 400 weapons. The unit is manned by 2150 military personnel including 1540 professional soldiers and 610 professional officers.

Mobile Land Units can move across all borders. When entering a country that is not in war with the country that owns the unit, there is no possibility to attack any targets. The unit can move around the country and will not be blocked by any objects or local army units.

The country that is being crossed by such mobile units cannot attack the mobile land units unless it declares war on the country of origin but the country is not damaged in any way by the passage of such units. Mobile Land Units are unable to gain any data on the local defense and are not able to transfer any knowledge to their own country. Mobile Land Units are unable to cross the sea between continents.

Mobile Land Units carry more supplies than standard units and can be supplied by any supply units. The units are supplied with standard weapons and ammunition in the same way other units are being supplied.
Lost soldiers and officers who have died in fighting must be replaced by professional soldiers and officers. If these are not available, the units will not be resupplied, in the same way that they cannot be resupplied if the country does not have the required weapons, ammunition and other supplies that are needed for the unit.

Mobile Land Units can be loaded onto cargo shuttles. An entire unit can be loaded on a cargo shuttle and it can be moved either to a space center in a different country where the cargo shuttle can land or to the Crucis space station where it can be stored in a cargo bay that can store up to ten such units.

Mobile land units includes the following weapons:
Anti Aircraft Missile Batteries 40
Mid Range Missile Batteries 40
Anti Tank Missile Batteries 20
Defensive Missile Batteries 30
Defensive Missile Interceptor Batteries 40
Defensive Anti Aircraft Batteries 30
Heavy Tanks 80
Heavy Artillery 60
Heavy Armored Vehicles 30
Heavy Jeeps 30

Obtaining Mobile Land Units

Mobile Land Units can be built by any player who has all the necessary weapons, ammunition, materials and also soldiers and officers that are needed in the setup of such a unit. These include professional soldiers and Officers only.

Mobile land units can also be purchased on the Crucis space station. Units can be transported to the space station by players who are building them in their own countries. The owner of the Mobile unit can move such units to any of her countries and use it in any war. The units move including the professional soldiers and officers and do not need any local change in their structure before they become operational. If damaged or incomplete, the units will have only partial fighting power and need to be resupplied to return to their full capacity.

A (future) change in cargo shuttles will allow them to land in remote bases that are owned by their country or a country of a federation member. When the upgrade becomes available, it will allow cargo shuttles to transport mobile units, weapons, ammunition and supplies, to remote bases.

Mobile Units cannot be built yet and cannot be traded. We expect the Mobile Land Units to become available, together with several other types of mobile units, in the coming three weeks.

Mobile Intelligence Units

Mobile Intelligence Units are designed to collect military information about their surroundings. When clicking on the unit on the map, you will be able to get all the information about objects within a distance of 25 around the unit. The unit will provide full information about these objects including weapons, ammunition quality and the supply situation.

Mobile Intelligence units have the size of a brigade and include defensive weapons only. The fighting quality of the unit can reach a level of 500. The total size of the unit is 400 weapons. The unit is manned by 1300 military personnel including 900 professional soldiers and 400 professional officers.

Mobile Intelligence Units can move across all borders. When entering a country that is not in war with the country that owns the unit, there is no possibility to attack any targets. The unit can move around the country and will not be blocked by any objects or local army units.

The country that is being crossed by such mobile units is able to attack the mobile intelligence units. The unit will use its weapons to try and fend off the attack. Mobile Intelligence Units are unable to cross the sea between continents.

Mobile Intelligence Units carry more supplies than standard units and can be supplied by any supply units. They are supplied with standard weapons and ammunition in the same way other units are being supplied.
Lost soldiers and officers who have died in attacks against the mobile intelligence units must be replaced by professional soldiers and officers. If these are not available, the units will not be resupplied, in the same way they cannot be resupplied if the country does not have the required weapons, ammunition and other supplies that are needed for the unit.

Mobile Intelligence Units can be loaded onto cargo shuttles. An entire unit can be loaded on a cargo shuttle and it can be moved either to a space center in a different country where the cargo shuttle can land or to the Crucis space station where it can be stored in a cargo bay that can store up to ten such units.

The units includes the following weapons:
Defensive Missile Batteries 100
Defensive Missile Interceptor Batteries 60
Defensive Anti Aircraft Batteries 40
Defensive Tanks 100
Defensive Jeeps 100

Obtaining Mobile Intelligence Units

Mobile Intelligence Units can be built in the same way Mobile Land Units are created. The units can also be purchased on the Crucis space station. Their transport and transfer between players can take place in the same way mobile land units are transported and traded.

Mobile Units cannot be built yet and cannot be traded. We expect the Mobile Land Units to become available in the coming weeks.

I certainly like the idea of these mobile units but they appear very expensive in light of all the other game changes that are reducing SC$ income and the increasing the difficulty of buying GC's without resorting to plastic.

i also see that investment fund interest hs reduced again to 0.25% - is this the last reduction or will there be more?

recheck the cost of the mobile units.
the professional soldiers and officers will end up at 2 - 2.5 gold coins.
the units are usable everywhere and you will probably do with a smaller army.

at 0.25% the interest is now at about 45% per real year. if we intend to bring the funds closer to the country finances it has to slow down a little more.

I don't see how or why we can pay 45% interest to everyone.
So it will have to go down a bit more and then we will recheck the consequences of our plans with the funds and the financial consequences at that scale.

OK thanks for the heads up Andy, I will expect further reductions in interest and adjust to suit. Although I have to say that if the interest for IF's does fall into line with that of country finances (12% per real year if I remember correctly) then the boost to other country indexes would be the only reason left to continue building them. Is an enhancement for any index planned in the future for those that grow IF's?

I consider 2-2.5 GC expensive for the mobile units! That said, I don't use the war engine much ATM so others will be a better judge if that cost is worth the obvious flexibility that mobile units offer.

yeah, thats a bit much, with the effort that would go into upgrading, and the professionals, why would you want to use them? i mean i get the idea of having a single force that you can move around, means less units, so its cheaper, in the sense that you never use it.

interesting things to come, while i'm still confuse on the existing things.

wondering why not focus on developing the details of the existing things first, such as map of country that can zoom in and zoom out, topo maps of the country, more details of the features within the country, more products for the whole game so that those who hate warring can focus on other products, diversify the worlds into speciaties, etc...

i like the idea of one kind of military units that can be move around to wherever they are needed. let the player decides the components of each unit, i.e. ammos, weapons, soldiers, etc. would be much nicer if you can aim at the targets instead of just arbitrary selecting amount of ammos and weapons to bomb the target.

I think CEOs should be the focus of the next update. There needs to be more incentives for people to build enterprises.

173 enterprises make more than 10B per game month.
34 enterprises make more than 100B per game month.
16 make 200B to 800B per game month.
Many more are profitable at a lower level.
Nearly non are losing money.
If they do, their setting are wrong.
It is difficult to lose money with an enterprise.

On top of these profits they pay much larger contributions to the countries where they reside, both in revenue contributions and taxes.

most of the corporations reside in countries owned by the same player.

Total profits amount to many trillions.
It is the largest part of the total of 120T profits per game month.

These new units favor the credit card warriors.

Players need GC to get these units. To build them, a player needs professional soldiers and officers, which requires direct trading. Or else a player can purchase the units through direct trading. Either way, direct trading requires GC.

Therefore, players who buy extra GC with their credit cards gain military advantages.

The Gamemasters keep increasing the advantages of the credit card warriors:
  • extra military spending space
  • powerful weapons bought from space stations
  • professional soldiers and officers
  • mobile land units
  • military intelligence units
Instead of war being player v. player, it's becoming credit card v. credit card.

This is not fair.

Maybe to encourage warring on Fearless Blue only give the option to take Cash or GC
If i win a war against a C3 country your given the option.

Take over the nation- which means taking the cash @ what ever war level you are at.
----OR----
Just ending the war and the player will gain GC equal to the cash you would have gotten.

So when warring the player will have a choice of either 13T or 150Gold Coins. This would mean more players moving to FB and would mean more C3 wars, more PvP warring, and more trading.
