I met some really cool rappers when in a, how shall I say, institution, in Cal. Obviously no instruments but their own lips, lungs, bodies. Man they had this middle class white boy awe struck, no, hypnotised.

LMAO. Even a person who cant stand rap music has gotta respect the art of freestyle battle. Your not allowed to have anything in mind before hand, they change up the beats on you, you litterally have to know what your goin to see say next WHEN your already saying the first line. It has to ryhme, make sense, i mean battling isnt for everyone.

When we were kids, me and my boys used to battle, and if someone stopped or couldnt ryhme something, they'd get punched. Not in the face but like the chest or shoulder.

The key is to have the brain. When someone pratices long enough, you start ryhming words without even caring or knowing. thats the easy part. But making those ryhmes make sense...and make fun of a certain person...NOW THATS THE HARD PART

Can you do it? Have you ever tried? I dont too much care for X games, bmx bikers, skateboarders and all that but i do have respect for the things they do. People think freestyle battles are easy until they see it takes one powerful brain to pull it off.

But then, very few people can write their own decent songs. So many chart entries are covers or contrived stuff. I blame all this X factor BS and stuff like that. Dont get me started on all that, my pet hate topic.

I hate it too, there cheaters. We all write our own stuff, of course we dont money to spend for writers. People call me the best around here, like i said, no cat in a hat shit here. But seriously i work on improoving myself constantly so i should be good. But i love hearing people brag on me

No I've been to rap battles, I ran my university radio station for a year, so I've even organized one, it didn't seem to tough. I'm not gonna knock it too bad, but when I was my own songs, matching music with lyrics, it was a lot of work. Electronica seems to be able to mix whatever with whatever, and rap music tends to have a lot of seperations so each section of the song doesn't have to flow with the rest. And so the lyrics only have to fit the pace of the verse. Much much more simplistic in my opinion, no doubt some level of skill is needed I for one can't move my mouth that fast, only my fingers. But still on two completely different levels

HA!!! I've already been on the wtong side of him. But making fun of people is remarkably easy, the hard part should be improptu rhyming as the good rap battlers and best comedians can turn your words against you. All I intended to say is that IF you compare it to good singer songwriters from other genres it isn't that impressive
