Ok guys and Gals, I notice that amongst the vast pool of knowledge within the experienced players that it is mainly mine that seems to be aired to promote newer players.

Of course there are others who kindly contribute, but predominantly it has been me over the last 6 months or more.

I don't think it is healthy for just my opinion to be influencing people who ask questions, your input is required too. I see no reason for many of you to just type a couple of lines offering your experiences.

I'm going to try to back off a bit so look forward to seeing a greater participation from those who can offer constructive comments.

Of course I do like running my gob so it may not happen but you all can still pipe up a bit. I know for sure some of you are far more adept at the game than me.

Also I may find some time to actually do something on my account...

Don't stop now Crafty. You're doing a wonderful job.
We will add to your suggestions when we see fit.
Alot of times I am hesitant because alot of players are free and dont stick around long enough to see the benefits from our advice.

Crafty- Your help and advice has not gone unappreciated, I value all of the help you have provided. With that in mind, I totally understand your needing to take care of your own. I'll continue to learn, and with any luck I will become more experienced enough to be a support to others, because I know what it is like to feel lost.

Thanks again

I learned like tons from you Crafty. I've been trying to help. Not that I've been playing all that long, but I have a pretty good understanding of the game, and have been trying to spread it. Even alternative strategies as well.

But I'd like to cordially thank you here =)

And that's half my point Drew, "Even alternative strategies..." Now that is what is needed.
Thanks for your input btw, I do see it and others.

Well I'm sure you dun want me to influence new players, do ya? lol I will have them all shoe shopping in no time. :P

Crafty, I think it is awesome that you dedicate your time to the new players. I think you are probably one of the most respected players in the game. I agree though, it would be so awesome if more of the veteran players (the decent ones) involved themselves again in the teaching of the game.

But, I'm telling you, you are working against forces where some players aren't so amenable to teaching or getting too involved with other players given the "IT" factor and game nonsense caused by WildEyes (Jess) and her gang. I'm not speaking for myself alone, I'm repeating what I have been told by several players.

Thanks for your support.

Rise above what level, Crafty? You don't think I have risen above it? I assure you I wouldn't be here today, if I hadn't. But, there is nothing wrong with me stating the facts, and that is exactly what happened. I'm so sorry if it offends you and the rest, and I ask you why you and others are so defensive about it? I just complimented you on me having the utmost respect for you, but yet, you never stood up and spoke out again the nonsense. Why is that? I have been curious about that with a lot of you long time players.

well crafty, i'd like to place my yes vote on what seems to be a universality excepted sense of respect for you.

you have a quality, that i have a difficult time duplicating. when it comes to helping newbs, i go in sperts. because i guess i expect a higher return for my efforts, than what i get. and find myself getting fed up. it seems to take a great deal more to get you to that level of frustration.

Haha guys, no I dont tire of it.

I get you entirely Josias, no worries, each does his/her own thing. I have screamed at the laptop before and wish someone could hear me. It can be thankless but, as this thread proves, it can be appreciated too.

@Kiss, chill out bird. All I'm saying is just like yourself the whole simcommunity can rise above negative factors like you and maybe others experienced. I haven't spoke out about it because it hasn't affected me, I wouldn't let it, she knows that too, but she knew how to get to you.

I'm sorry I can't slate it in front of everyone, it's just a non-event to me, sorry.

But I'll lend you my boot to kick her arse, how's that?

@ Orbiter, and to what level of return are you talking about? Why does helping someone in the game have anything to do with receiving some benefit in return? Help should be given freely with no expectations of any return. Not attacking....just saying. But if you are talking about....helping someone and them not sticking around, then yes, I can understand the frustration, but still you need to still deliver and contribute. More players might stick around if people were more readily available. There are NEVER any individuals in chat for any new player to even visit to get "live" game help.

I'm not really upset, Crafty, just passionate about the topic and what I think was a problem in the game, the cause for the lack of teaching today, the decline in chat.

There is no need to apologize to me, Crafty, because you didn't involve yourself. I was just always curious as to why people stood up and visibly supported BA/Wild in all that and noone gave me that courtesy. But then Rob and Bobo both explained to me that all those who were standing up in her defense were more than likely all HER and her numerous personas. lol I was curious about you, though, cuz I always had you pegged as a decent, upstanding player. But even Rob and Bobo explained that to me as well...the decent ones won't involve themselves as it doesn't affect them.

As to wanting to kick her arse. I really have no interest in her whatsoever. When I mention Jess/WildEyes it is only because I firmly believe this person's method of game playing was a big problem in the game. If a player's behavior causes even 1 player and a paying one at that, to leave the game...there is a problem. As far as having any personal feelings at all about her, I have none. She has absolutely no power over me now in this game. Blueserpent and I are no longer a couple. He is no longer in this game. I no longer have assets in this game. I have absolutely nothing to defend here.

I only ask that I not be berated for stating my opinion even though it might bring up a sore spot for some of you.

ok, i meant that if i'm offering people help, i want to see them get it, you know?

2 questions.

1. Why does it seem every thread you post on, you turn into about you, and the martyrdom parade?

2. And for some one that doesn't want drama, why do you keep stirring it up?

Counter questions:

Why do YOU care so much? You know, Josias, most men would not have involved themselves in a girl fight, which has always kinda made me raise an eyebrow towards you. One has to ask... Why do you, Josias, feel so compelled to be the "voice"? But to answer your question........ because I'm still pissed and because I can. :P You know what they say about ticking off a female. :S

PS. It isn't drama, dear boy. It is the truth. I'm sorry that it strikes a chord wif ya, but maybe that is because you were part of the bad behavior.

For drama, please visit the WG section under the Dixon sanctions thread..... that was drama...... You will note it is quite different than my posts on this topic. Distinguish between the two, Josias.
