To some, september 11th is the day the terrorist attacked the towers. To me, and my family, from now on it will be remembered as the day the leader of our family passed away. My grandfather was a wonderful man. He stayed married to the same woman for 50 years, or at least it would had been october 26th. I can only believe the reason God didnt allow him to survive that long, is cus Jesus didnt like the party we were planning for mawmaw and pawpaw so he wanted to throw a better one. September 11th, 2012 at 10:44am my granfather/father/teacher/mentor passed away. He was 74 years old for only over a week. This man meant everything to me, even tho we didnt get along very much. That was just pawpaw. He was set in his ways and had too much honor. But he was the greatest man and i have never ending respect for him. He came from a time when whites and blacks hated each other. However on the day he was burried, 2 black friends of mine carried his coffin. They even called him pawpaw cus he was so good to them. That was the man my granfather was. No matter who you were, color, gender, age. He would curse your ass out for doing something wrong...BUT FAMILY OR NOT, he'd give you the shirt off of his back if you needed it. He impacted my life just as much as he did his own kids life. He took care of me like a son when my dad and mom only cared about drugs. He took care of everything i needed, food, school clothes, supplies, games i wanted, movies. And he came to every single football game i ever played even when he could barely move.

He was married to the same woman for almost 50 years. He marched with Dr.King. He took care of everyone, loved so much, but never would say it. The day before he died, i told him i loved him, and that i was sorry. I guess thats what he was waiting on. Cus less than 24 hours later, he was gone. I could go on and on forever about how great my grandfather was. I just wish he could had seen his great grand daughter. I just wish i could had payed him back for everything he done for me since i was born. I've lived with him everyday the last 25 years. And i will never forget him or be the same again. I love you pawpaw, and may God rest your soul.

The Greatest. I could always depend on him. Him and my grandmother are the only ones who ever gave a fuck about me

I am sorry to hear that, I am really not good at saying anything in these instances but that I understand you, I lost my brother last year and I am sure he is waiting for me, a good old hug when I join him. Just like your grandfather is waiting, nothing greater than to have your loved one greet you and guide you in the afters.

Ive lost 3 cousins in the past year... one of which i grew up right beside and another theat one of her last words to me was "I love you...Happy Birthday" and i didn't ever say anything back..... Just be Glad that you got that chance to say it mate. i had to stand over her grave and wonder if she knew i loved her.

He went on knowing you appreciated him and knowing you loved him. and i'm sure that's all he ever wanted, not for you to pay him back, or give back every thing he gave you. Right now i bet the man is up there telling stories to his passed friends about his grandson that's still down here. and i garuntee you when she's born... He'll be your daughter's primary Abassador to our lord himself.

Sorry for your loss bro, just be glad that its only temporary, and that you just have one more reason to try to get to heaven
