Ive had alot of people ask so i wanna see what everyone is doing.

What do you do for your price settings?

I personally sell 20% dropping 6%
Buy 5% below raising 3%

as of right know I am using default on sell at best price and buying at -8...no increase/decrease. my corps are still producing a respectable profit on average...(.5B) some are producing around (1B)...all of my corps are fully upgraded and I have some of them buying quality at 250...let me know if you guys have any better ideas...also

I buy at 100 +4

I sell at +195 -12

I know that Andy continously says that the sell strategy is off but everything will sell anyways so who cares? I suppose if the supply and demand changes I'll rework it.

It must be off.

I have sell set to 200 and -5, but everything sells all the time anyway.

I don't get 2 times the price, though. I suspect the selling price is capped because the productprice is (see other thread). I.e. a max of +4%.

Same with purchase. No matter how low I set it, I get all goods, but close to the marketprice.

If thats the case then what does it matter what we set our trade strategies too? I ve been reading back a few weeks in the chat and thats what peoples were sayin too! so thats why I set my straegies so conservatively.

I dont know about you guys but I often get a 'too high' or 'some left' if I ask for much above Q.

I would rather sell all at a slightly lower price than have it hanging around. Cash flow, to me, is important when some corps can spend 20B+ in one go on supplies. And when you see that a corp that makes say 1B a month profit when selling all at best price, will lose twice that or more in a month if it doesn't sell. I dont think Andy suggests his strategies for nothing.

Yup i think it's a big problem, I do understand Andy's expanation and SC's position but you guys are correct but only mostly correct. They do serve a purpose in dealing with selling products in surplus, and very rarely in buying products in shortage. In other words it semi-sets the order at which corps sell to the open market. Completely unrealistic! So if you are selling products in shortage it doesn't matter. If your buying strategies are low though you will run into collosal issues. These trade strategies would be completely obsolete if corps could set a low watermark like the countries can.

I agree with Crafty and use the same strategy. I have tried various settings in the past, and as mentioned, cash flow and lowered production due to excessive amounts of retained product seem to cancel out any benefit.
