My corporations, which i realise are the lifeline for keeping my nation afloat having been losing money for years now, mainly because of the lack of workers etc. So in order for me to make them profitable, i need to close some of the most dire, non-profitable corps and use the workers for the ones which have a hope. They are all quite old too. So in order for me to close them i need them to go under 100B in market value and they arnt budging. I set them at 10 for both Production and Hiring for months and although they lost workers the market value would not move past around 177Billion. So trying to redevelop them and put workers back in them, i set production and hiring back up again to 100 each, but no workers have went in them at all now, even though they can go in since the option is there and there is alot of unemployed workers? I dont understand.

My nation is the Federal Republic of Plato and i posted here before about my declining nation. The problem then was education and health infrastructure, mainly education but that index has started to recover and is near on top again, therefore my education priorities are entirely in my control now. But now i realise that in order to recover and grow again, and therefore save the nation in the process, my corps need to employ and also make a profit, which they arnt doing (in fact they are the main reason why im losing money now).

I still cant close any corps down and the market value of them all has stayed the same all the way through the lowering of production and hiring and i dont know if i have any more options to close them down or in the long run; make profits with some corps, because right now around 2 of around 25-35 state corporations are making small profits in the face of all the others making huge losses.

I need some help with this problem and i could really use some advice, ideas and tips. Thanks.

Hi Devlin,

The reason that there are hiring issues in your country is that there is a chronic shortage of high tech executives. More are getting trained/hired all the time according to your chart so things ARE recovering, but it will take time.

Arccuk looked at your country and he's probably right. I also support fixing what you can.

BUT... if you want to do as you propose I'll tell you how.

1. Set the corps you may want to hold onto to 10H 10P.

2. The corps you want to close should be able to climb up to 100H. Set them to 100H and 10P. This means you will pay the full salaries but have far less output. Losing 2-3B a month WILL send them under 100B. But it will take some time, and when their cash reserves run out it will be a great expense.

3. With the new employees you should then be able to fix the hiring and production of the corps currently running at 10/10.

BUT... what might serve you better is take over a c3, they seem to have like 15k HTX if HTX are your problem this should fix it right up. But I do notice they tend to have a shortage of HTE and HTS. But if you destroy their corps you should be able to gain whatever you need no matter what you need the following month. Just trade professionals between the two nations. Trade the cash and cancel the country.

These are both great help guys :) But what do you say when my cash reserves run out and when the remaining corps are more profitable i wont have enough money to make more corps. Ill be seeking private investment like crazy to help the situation on top of piles of debt and unpaid loans that were automatically taken as my cash ran out? Btw ill keep you posted on the situation regarding the market value of the corps... And drew, when i set the targeted corps at 10H 10P what do you mean they will climb to 100H why would they do that?

To answer the direct question first, when you set your corps you want to keep to 10H maybe you have 5 that were at 30. Then you can run 5*20=100 you can run one corp at 100H. 100H and 10P will allow you to close it. As you go you may be able to rebound some of the corps you want to keep and they can creep H=P higher and higher beginning to make them profitable.

The other part of that comment. First you have to find out the catalyst of your failings so it won't happen again. It may be smart to just start over. It may be smart to use debt. Not entirely sure but most situations you can dig yourself out of as long as you understand the cause.
