One of the war features that might have been forgotten is the power of attack units during war and their dependency on military units that are close to their targets.

When you attack a target, the power of your attack will be twice stronger if one or more of your own military units is stationed close to the target you attack.

Attacking targets while your army is far away and none of your military units are within range is far less effective.

This feature is part of the war game for a very long time but many players may not be aware of it.

Especially me, I admit I too, have only really used this when it comes to air power and not missile attacks etc.

I was always under the impression that the assistance provided by nearby units only applied to attacks on neighbouring countries.

Is this still correct or do units close to a target in any country assist an attack?

And yes Wendy, I also thought it applied to air attacks only, but cant say for sure from personal experience.

So... a unit must be close (<35 kms) at all times for both air and missile attacks, for both players and C3s, for both neighbouring and non-neighbouring countries?

close to their targets - 35KM or nearer, thats virtually right next to target on the normal map.

As for far less effective, I dont have an exact answer, but would guestimate that it makes a 50% difference to your effectivity, maybe, around there, someone else might be more accurate.
