i've spent allot of years, randomly trying to help players.

first thing, you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make them drink.

this runs true with sim-newbs. most will say they want help, but when they are back in the chat room a week later, asking the same BASIC questions...

you have to wait, for the right player to come along, to help. they have to reach out to you, not the other way around. and even then, they may not really want your help.

best option, stir up something, and see who knocks on your door.

Would either of you be willing to offer advice for taking a C3 at war level 3? I know to run the 1000aa and 100mrmb, but what should I attack garrisons with? I think I read heavy tanks somewhere but I can't remember.

My country is The Principality of Gheb.

make an extra unit of just mrmb, use that to destroy the gar, then use another unit to destroy the target.

RW, i'm not so worried about my destruction, in a game i can turn off. not anymore anyways

although, i'll tell ya, you'd better move soon, or you wount have much of a chance. 1Q assets or not.

Many people also give up within a week also. Only the ridiculously intelligent or those who are absolutely fascinated with figuring out how to build their first country into a decent country manage to survive the first 7 days (I'm the latter, since I'm a sucker for in-depth open-ended simulation games like SimCity or Simcountry). I'd say only 1 in 100 actually fit into either categories, and this isn't a bad thing. It means that only the most passionate or strategic participate in the game.

In essence, this game is very niche.

After that 7 day "burn-out" zone, I'd say the most crucial aspect is getting help. I was lucky - I landed in the Protectorate Federation early on and was helped immensely by the vets. If people seek out help on chat and forum also, they are much more likely to keep with the game for a long while. But, if people aren't willing to make an effort to do this, they'll give up. One of the worst things one can do when playing a game for the first time is neglecting to find help.

Hear hear. Thats why I am forever asking for a halt to the dumbing down of the game. Does the world really need another _insert crappy kids war/building game here_
