Direct Trading - Gold Coins

There are no offers and no buyers for game cash that sells for gold coins. The Gms need to come up with a solution for the supply side of gold coins. The removal of gm offers and sales of gc worked well for a while but I think the tipping point of players with gold coins willing to part with them has been reached. There are offers that have not been settled for at least the last two weeks I have been watching. I placed an offer of cash for GC there as well and I think the offer will expire well before I can get any settlement for gc due to the offers ahead of my own. some 4000+ coins need to be filled before anyone can consider my offer. This is not very good.

Start supplying GCs on the market directly.

If they don't want to intervene, allow the market to function: allow players to be able to bid more money per gold coin. (Partial solution)

But I must say that NOT intervening is an irresponsible behaviour from the Gamemaster. It is his job as it is the job of a Central Bank.

I gotta agree with wendy on this one and I'll keep agreeing.

The GM needs to either

A. Give us more ways to make GC.
I've suggested that on FB after wining a war instead of taking the nation we can just end it giving us GC = to the cash we would have gotten.

B. increasing how many GC people get when buying 360GC for 36bucks is SAD, back in the day it was OK but with most things on GC it needs to be updated.

C. remove the stupid price limit they have in place, they claim to want a free market when they limit the price its anything BUT. If anything it should be up to the players to set the value of GC not the game master. Let the players pick a number between 1B and 1T SC$ per GC, we as players will find a number that works and sales will resume.

Why would the gm make it easier then the game wouldnt make as much money this way paves the way for the payment of gc through the purchase gold coin function is the better option.

I am on this bandwagon, too, as I have always been. I don't have time to rant right now, but of course my position has always been that there needs to be free trade in GC's between players, or else a central bank where players can trade sim-cash for GC. Rant to follow if I get time.

I'll take a break from my regular pro-regulation stance and say that the GMs need to let the GC market self-regulate. If that means that the players, not the GM, set the price for GCs, then so be it.

I buy 90 GC for 3 months play. It costs me 270 GC a month, or 810 GC in that 3 months to continue my countries & enterprises. So where does the GM expect that 720 GC taken out of the game to come from. And of course, thats just me amongst many.

Insufficient coins are generated through levelling, awards etc to cover this, I reckon. I dont suggest the GM flood the market, I would rather they kept out of it in fact. But the space trade situation and DT of products for GC just isnt an attractive option for most. If these were used widely, then I would reckon the GC supply would sort itself out, with price set by the players.

It's just beyond us to make these GC generating schemes attractive. This is where the GM should come in.

It really isn't a matter of flooding the market, but the demand must at least be met. I want to expand my empires but I am afraid that I'll end up having to buy coins in order to get them if I don't manage the coins I have atm. I've spent a few hundred coins in pop over the last few months, and I am not too excited about spending another 500 if there is no guarantee I can replace them. I would also like to be able to beat the highest offer. The mechanism preventing this option to beat the best offer is what is going to delay any purchase of GC. That is if players come up with the 4000 coin demand ahead of my own in the first place.

At any rate, it is painfully clear that demand is outpacing supply in a big way. Only the gm can fix that reality. imho its really only a problem about the price limits for GCs. Back in the days where GCs were much more worth (i know only in numbers not in relation to earnings nowadays) there were almost at all times someone selling GCs. I dont think that there is so much more demand nowadays then it was back then, so I guess noone wants to put in RL-Cash for GCs if they sell so low, I surely dont want to.
If there is bigger demand, like it is now, why shouldnt the price increase?
Why is it only possible to lower the price of GCs then to increase?
I know Simcountry is a product and a corporation wants to get cash from its products but if the price of GCs only drop further and there is no temptation to buy GCs then I think noone will buy GCs for RL-Money, latest when the price drops to 1B/GC. I guess its not intended to take the GC-Trading out of SC but thats what will happen when there is noone left selling GCs.
