The Score was updated to make it slightly dependent on the war protection in the country.

Thereby, we have introduced an error that changed the score dramatically. This happened in some countries. In many countries the change was small.

The error is now fixed and the score is back to where it should have been.

We are very sorry about this error but the correction is on time before the end of the month awards and will have no effect on the results.

What is the intended change in the score:

A country that has war protection turned off, will see its score increase. The increase depends on the war level. The higher the war level, the more points will be added to the score.

The change is not expected to make a big difference and may take a long time to reach even 20 points.

On the other hand, a country that has war protection turned on will lose some points. Also here, a change of 20 points may take a very long time to materialize.

Countries that have secured mode on are unaffected.

However, There are countries that are in secured mode and have war protection on.

These countries will see their score decline and they can correct it by turning off their secured mode.

If the country is in secured mode, there is no need for temporary war protection.

I dont get it. Why would I have wp for a secured country? If I buy wp for my slaves my main wont be affected? What's the point of this then seen as the main's the only country competing for prizes?

It does seem kind of pointless.

Ok, if you turn off secured and dont have WP then your main may gain 20 points (over a long time). Gaining 20 points from a slight increase in CM or local trading must surely be preferable.

If the intention is to get warmongers to expose countries just to get some extra score, that is not going to work.

I don't know why players set WP for their main country.
there is no need and the WP creadits are not used.
we have now seen that some countries have it.

It is pointless and until now made no sense and no difference.

they can better turn it off now.

My war protection was on in my secure country. Who Knew? Still, since I wrote the post in the other thread my score has dropped by 20 points. That is one calender day. Pretty fast I think.

Check all other countries.
the score is now a bit lower for everyone.

Relative positions have not changed yet as the WP changes did not kick in yet. (1 to 4 points per day, up or down).

All my WG countries are over 100 points lower than they were before the first change. They are going back up, very slowly, but it will take years for them to get back to the original level.

It's definitely not back to where it was. Is more than 100 points what you mean by "a bit lower", Andy?

The countries around me on the leader board are still showing irregular changes as well. One has increased its score by over 100 points since the change, another has dropped by 50, and another by 15.

It doesn't look as though it's completely fixed yet ... :(

Thanks for the warning Andy. Never touched my setting for WP, but mine was enabled in my secured country... Could it be a game error?
Also, Do you expect changes to the common markets anytime? I find it very time consuming to have to cancel contracts to adjust them to what my corporations demands are. It would be nice to have a modification option that allows us to give up the excess production and automatically place in back on market for others to use. Otherwise, someone cancels and it leaves a void. Causing a constant waste of time that has left some people avoiding the CMs. I see a modification option w/ auto offering goods back to the CM as a viable and very effective means to increase the CMs role in the game.

The score will end up lower in all countries.
we can change the balance a bit and add 50 to 100 points to all scores in all countries in the coming update. This may make some people happier but will not change positions. The current change did not change much either.

It is clear however from the last game news that we have introduced new parameters to the score that reward countries that turn off war protection.

The higher the war level, the higher the reward.

With the cost of war declining, more defense options, even lower cost due to the possibility to use mobile units that can be part of multiple armies, war protection will in time have serious alternative.

We have already announced that once more defense options become available, and the cost of units even lower, WP will become more expensive and we will also increase the awards incentives for countries that remove it.

As long as everybody keeps using war protection and convinced that WP is a better alternative, we have some way to go.

1. Not much of a fan of the whole KISS mantra? Either way, you need to add that bit to the score description or it won't do diddly-squat.

2. It is the wrong kind of incentive. War folk need war incentives, not builder incentive. What you did is actually perverse.

3. Some time ago I noticed the game said I had war protection turned on on my secured main. I don't remember turning it on and I don't think the game was discounting from my war protection pool, so it is probably an error with the game.

Were convinced wp is the better alternative because it is. I showed in the other thread that it's by far the cheaper option. Surely you guys could do that math and work it out for yourselfs?

When a country's wasting more than half it's monthly income on ammo you'd use wp aswell.

Andy - my Leader country is at war level 11, has war protection switched off, and it has lost 93 points. The country above it on the leader board is at war level 3 and has only lost 16 points.

Unless I am missing something, that doesn't fit with your explanation of what has happened.

Please can you explain further?

Hugs and respect

Maybe you read the year to date numbers as monthly cost and maybe it is a huge army.

We did not claim it is already more attractive, or balanced but we are not done either.

and what is good for one, may not fit another.

There are also many more parameters to it.
once you have mobile units stored in space, there is no cost of ammo and your army becomes much smaller even when it is in the country.

The math is not trivial and not over.

No Andy. I worked it out by adding up the monthly use. It's not really a big army. What I had is 200 int and 200 heli wings. Plus all critical targets defended. Ie cities.forts, bases and corps. That's a bare minimun defence and I wouldnt be outta wp with anything less. Im not sure what you idea of a big army is? That army I described above isnt that strong.

Trust me i'd love to have all my countries well defended and outta protection but with these cost it doesnt make sense.

Andy I dont have the GC's to turn my army into mobile units. Nor do I have the desire to. I want my army in place and ready to fight not stored somewhere. If I wanted that I could store it in my ceo.
