Ever since we have introduced the award penalties and the possibility to win many awards in a single month, the score penalty reduced the score of some countries into negative values.

To prevent negative scores that were shown as a zero score that did not improve in time because of the large negative value, we have increased the score of all countries by the introduction of a base score that was added to all countries.

The base score was increased this week by 2000 points and we think that after this change, the problem of negative scores will be solved.

The score however, changes in a delayed process to prevent sudden jumps and manipulations, especially in the last days of each month, before the awards are distributed.

This is why the score did not jump by 2000 points. It is increasing fast, but at a slowing pace, and will settle at the new level within a couple of days.

The next update, June 18 or June 25, will have a new page, showing some of the many components that are responsible for the score, including some of the main ones:
The score penalty, The base score, population transfer influence on the score, war protection effects, the population contribution to the score and the influence of the game level on the score.

Maybe its just me, but it would have made a lot more sense to adjust the penalties than the whole thing. Well, what's done is done.

Does accepting an award always affect the score, regardless of the size of the award? I might be wrong, but I vaguely remember there being a cutoff where an award of 30 or less gold coins didn't affect the score?

Is there any such cutoff for countries and/or enterprises?

Yet again it would seem changes were introduced without any testing or forethought into the consequences of the change.

Perhaps SC should run a test server where players can play a free country and test out any changes to show problems before they are introduced into the main game.

All awards influence the score.

None of us expected penalties to go in the 5000.
It means that some have won several # 1 awards in more than one world in a single month.

Yeah, I always make them smile when I come! Booyah!

I kid. I kid because I love.

Besides magnifying the score, they also changed the weight of some parameters. Must noticeably, the score per game level went down from 200 to 160, I think. So, this could account partially for the change in ranks.

If I have not sold or transfered population in over a real year, why are most of my countries being penalized for it (I have bought alot though)?

I hope you GMs figure this stuff out. I log on, I've lost a few hundred points and I can't understand why cause most stuff is improving. I'll play your game but quit changing the damn rules mid stream.

Hahahaha! You guys...

But returning to topic.

I took a good look at the score page and when I noticed that my base score was 4 000 my bull-o-meter went off. That was when I summed up all the numbers and noticed that score page had nothing to do with my score.

According to the page, my score should be 3 727,37, while it is 5 596.

Can we have a score page with actual and current content? If not, I'm better off without a bogus score page.

Indeed! According to the score page my score is supposed to be 4,300.5 but my score is 6,227.

I see... The base score is just a constant that is added to all countries. And here I was, hopping that it was the score expunged from the detailed factors. This is why the scores don't match. I was expecting too much.

Still, why is my penalty stuck at 1 600? Isn't this factor supposed to wane over time?
