Medical Materials Corps - The End?

There has been a change to these corps, in that they no longer make a profit.

The value of my LU assets has dropped by 200T in just a couple of real weeks.

So much so that even my public MM corps are about to go into debt with zero values.

I expect shifts in the market, but I have never seen one this bad.

Do i really need to start shutting down over 200 fully upgraded corps, that already have ASQ? Seems like such a waste of time and effort.

I just saw the price increasing on WG but I really hope you did not make your economy depend on a single product.

The same problem with med material corps happenned in KB about 3-4 months ago. The sale price for the product dropped rediculously low (from 5700-6000 to 2500-3000 or something) and this lasted for something like 30 game years. It hasn't happened since, but ever since I really dont trust this product (and its a shame because with ASQ and the low wirkforce required it could be extremely profitable)

Yes, I agree, THERE is a huge problem with supply and demand levels for production plants considering only 156 corporations produce on WG.

If there is a surplus, the price will drop.
If it drops for a long period, some of the corporations will close, production will drop and the price will increase again.

If more product is bought, the price might increase without the closing of corporations.

You can check short and long term shortage and surplus on the trading pages.

The value of corporations depends on their profitability.

Nothing to do with the topic above, but what if a corporation was like Rockefeller and solely depended on Oil and, somehow, there was a surplus on Oil? Wouldn't that have a punch?

I'm questioning supply levels which ranged from under 5 units to 150 units from one month to the next, a pattern which repeated itself for 11 months. It seems impossible since only 156 corps were producing, and it takes approximately 16 months to produce one unit. It seems to have stabilized now, but if you look back at the numbers you'll see how quirky they were.

Mits- People buy product to sell at other times too. This can create a flux in the market. They use countries' cash to buy product to put on the market with increases to make profits.

I built a Enterpise solely one one product, electric power, i had 150 corps just on that, nothing else, i wanted to control at lest 15% of market supply, but very diffucult if you are not active. I would say if you have the money buy the supply in the market to the demand/supply even point, if market price keeps falling keep buying till the selling has stoped. prices will one day go back up, and you will make money from your corporations, and Trillions from trading the product.

unless the game fundamentally changes the profitabliy of the product James... ive been keeping my trucks Corp afloat by buying all its production hoping I'm going to make a profit when trucks go back into demand like they used to but everytime there is a shortage the c3s start building a ton more trucks corps ending the shortage and hurting my Corp.... it seems the low volume corps are like that while the high volume corps are always in shortage..... andy I'm talking about market value... production plants are often in shortage so I assume many of the production. plant corps are profitable however many of them have a low market value.... I assume because the 1 month of large profit a year doesn't have as much an affect as 12 months of small profit.... maybe the gm should look into fixing this because my IF owns 30% of a production plant Corp who's market value refuses to go up

"the who" if you are on LU, i would be careful now that i am back, i got 1000 prod plants i need to unload, and only when it hits 18bill will i start dumping until it falls to 12, buy at 8 and repeat. prod plants can make 25bill in profits on a good year (prices above 20billl) the problem is the game avgs. game months so that one bad month can kill your Market value. this isnt a bad thing, as you can probly buy a company that produces 15bill in profits for penuts. at the end of the day high volume corps (electirc power, oil, HHP, FMU, etc...) all are great places to be in a trade as if prices fall bellow base, it is a great buy, becouse everyone needs them.

I have a diverse portfolio thanks, But I had in total, about 200 MM corps worth about 200T, which have very little or no market value now.

I have learned my lesson and will build far fewer of any one corp in future.

My mistake was assuming that because the price had fluctuated within a certain range for many real months, that it would continue to do so.

I think the tools available for market analysis are limited, and you can only view historical pricing data for a small number of months.

Yes the price fluctuates with the market.
if there is a surplus, the product price will drop, profitability will drop and market value will drop too, with a delay.

if the price goes up again, the opposite will happen, and market values will restore.

This has been like this for ever.
we have no idea which products go up or down, the market does it, we are not checking the market.

You should realize that the system takes care of itself.
we have created an automatic system that takes care of itself for years while we keep the development going.

We have made many changes, but not to the market movements. we have reduced pricing across the game but the game logic did not change.

the market shows lots of shortages and the prices are at the top for many products. I never hear complaints about it.

every time there is a surplus of certain type of products, some people start complaining.

it doesnt however c3s will make more corps to alleviate the shortage... however this system is not perfect apparently or else c3s would be making alot more oil corps

Get a grip people The only corps I have in my enterprise is the ones that supply is in the red and there is very high demand for whatever product I only get the corps where the demand is in full red bar and its in the millions has worked quite profitable so far

the system tries to prevent extreme situations.
There are some products. like services, HT services and Factory maintenance units that could stop the entire industry If shortages become too severe.

Some product is than added, but only (relative) small quantities that do not resolve the shortage (shortages continue) and as a result, do not change the price.
If services will show a total shortage over time of 20B units, or more, 2B units may be added.

This is done from day one and was discussed here many times. Interventions have become smaller and less frequent.

The production of some corporation types is tuned up from time to time to help balance the markets. check after tomorrows upgrade.
Services, HT services, construction, Factory maintenance, all produce a little bit more than before. (1 or 2%). in the long run, it will reduce intervention numbers.
