In the past month, Simcountry introduced several features that make it easier to build a strong defense.
The idea is to reduce the need for war protection and instead, make it easier to set up a strong defense that will prevent an attack on the country, or in case of an attack, make it much harder and more expensive for the attacker.

To improve the defense, we will add quality to all military bases and fortifications, increase the max number of fortifications per country to 150 (from the current 100) and increase the weight of military bases and fortifications on the defense index and the score.

Fortifications and military bases now have a more significant influence on the defense index.
We expect countries with 100 fortifications to see their defensive index increase and more is expected in July.

The war index is now based for 50% on the survival of fortifications in the country, with a max. 100 fortifications.
In the future, the war index will depend on up to 150 fortifications and on the number of military bases in the country. Defense could become tougher to destroy.

We advise players to increase the numbers of both fortifications and military bases in their countries.

In the past, Simcountry permitted thousands of fortifications in each country. There are no plans at all to return to very large numbers.

Indeed very nice update it will make defense much better and it will help in building a military.

Andy
How will this effect the war index? I remember you saying bases will have an effect but will forts be worth 30 points meaning i have to take out 5 forts to get a single point? The biggest cost is war is the removal of a target

Other then that my only personal concern is the troop count and cost. 150 forts would cost 200,000K troops plus even with the decrease in weapons. Garrisons still cost a pretty penny. If we having more forts/bases in war now, is there any word on production increases for weapons corps? With these new updates and corps using weapons they will come into a higher demand and a production increase is due.

As i said in my voting poll. 1 corp makes 1000 inter missiles and a wing need 9750. So its really off balanace

Better defense means more attacks to take a country, making it more difficult.
If you have 150 fortifications for 30 points, it means you have to destroy 150 fortifications to get the 30 points and destroy the bases to get 20 more.

Please quit putting wrong numbers.
In the past months, the army is becoming smaller. Numbers have declined.
You put here numbers of mobile units and they all don't match.
This is why we tend to remove these messages.

There is a lot of ammunition on the market. If anything should change, we should probably decrease production numbers as we do not want to see all these corporations disappear.

theres lots of shortages on WG Andy... and with the way weapons corps are setup its nigh impossible for a regularly sized country to manufacture its own weapons... maybe this conversion of industrial corps idea would help

Andy

If my numbers are wrong please dont just censor me. Please inform me of what the new numbers are. The Game is changing so rapidly i only use the numbers i assume are correct. I even reference the docs sometimes even if they are out of date. If you wish for me to provide accurate info when i discuss these topics in the fourms, i need to first know the correct info or naturally all my numbers will be incorrect.

Im only giving my opinion on these topics and using the info on hand that i have as a basis. If its incorrect please give me more accurate info and i will make a more educated statement

The conversion of corporations will become possible in one of the coming updates. Conversions will remain within the industry group.

We are currently looking at specific weapons, and the production levels of the corporations.

Weapons or ammunition corporations that show large shortages, will be updated by several percentage points, to increase their production while the base price per product will decline.

It is not our intension to make any major changes that will change the market but we have said, many times in the past, that if the weapon and ammunition industries will start showing shortages, production will increase.
