it seems the inability of countries to nationalize is causing some CEOs to act quite rudely to presidents

i imagine the new feature was implemented to disallow new presidents from nationalizing CEOs corporations out of ignorance however the problems with a CEO losing a precious c3 corporation to nationalization is completely petty compared to the problems faced by presidents when a CEO takes over your whole economy that youve spent several months building and says "o well the game allows it whats the problem"? ..... utterly ridiculous the lack of forethought and prudence on the part of the GM.... im completely helpless right now as 2 CEOs buy up shares potentially very profitable corps which have temporarily gone through period of low profits and are as a result valued at under 1 billion dollars.... these CEOs have now proceeded to mismanage my corps and kill employment and production.... when i politely ask them multiple times to give the corps back these are the infuriating responses i receive..... "I purchased them for a fair price (A FULLY UPGRADED TRULY PUBLIC CORP FOR UNDER 1 BILLION DOLLARS) and I pay the employees well I don't see what the problem is, but if you keep insisting that its yours, I see no choice but to move said corp out of your country"

well, which came first the chicken or the egg.

@Y, you can nationalize public corps, when the sale completes, you purchase the min number of shares needed to gain control.

their are ways for the CEO to avoid that.

but an option if your having consistent problems of this sort. build to many corps for your country, and raise the salary levels over the CEOs, their employees will abandon them, they will be forced to move, or allow you to nationalize it back, probably at a much cheaper price than they bought the shares for.

for the rest of you, 4 dollars a month, isn't so much to ask to be able to forcibly take others property, and that is what you are doing when you are nationalizing.

but as a secondary point, as far back as i can remember, players have been asking for both a way to block bidding (and nationalizing,) and also provide a market that players can offer corps for sale

with bidding, the seller has no choice. their are things a CEO can do, but its pretty limited. your forced to sell something you may have spent allot of time on. Corps like nukes, and space can be worth much more than their actual value

on the other side, usually the sale of corps via bidding, brings in more income than the corp would provided in 6 RL months. in terms of actual pocket cash, its more valuable to the seller, and you can have a replacement corp up and running long before you are running in the red.

many players have asked for a method/market to offer corps for sale. along with upgraded/expanded/new CEO features, for a very long time.

hint hint W3C

as long as its on my mind,

one of my ideas, is a "project page," for CEOs.

personally, if it was easier, i'd run all my "Books and Newspaper," corps differently than the rest of my corps. if i had say 500 corps, and 20 B&N corps, i could put my B&N corps into a "project page," and manage their salaries and supplies together, separately from the rest, with out having to set every individual corp.

and lastly (maybe,) if market values more accurately reflected what players would be willing to pay for, it might make the share market a more interesting game feature

i definitely agree with that why do i have 30 corps in a country of 30 million worth a trillion dollars when the biggest corp on planet earth is half that why dont i just liquidate all my assets give it to my population and everyone can be a millionaire

But then what would they spend their money on? And then what would the value be of that money? And if it is all bought from outside the country with no actual GDP it wouldn't be long before the country would be in massive need of aid.

well, their is a way to do something like that.

if you IPO a corp at the lowest possible value. 600B, and you buy the max shares (40%) for a secondary country's Investment Funds, it'll cost the IF 240B. Then after the corp value increases, to say 1.2T, you sell out, doubling your money. Their is a little more to it than just that, but yes, it works.

if you compare that "profit," to 40% of the corps profit it will pay out, via dividends, You'll realize that you will literally increase your IF by RL years, compared to the daily dividend.

The Game Masters estimate the over all profitability of corps, based on the total Market value of all corps. so in order to prove that their game changes make us all more profitable, they increase the MV, but market value has always been ridiculously high, compare to actual profit.

Im being assaulted by many CEOs recently its uncanny how these new attacks are correlated to free players not being able to nationalize corps.... does the GM care to comment??

our war players will defend those you declare war on and our ceo's will tear your economy down. You brought this upon your self, so now you have to deal with our CEO's and the one's that were already attacking you.

Oh ok so it is a case of multiplying.... How clever make a brand new CEO with 1 trillion dollars and bid away... Not the fairest way of conducting war though so perhaps you should refrain from making this public.... Who is this anyways Ontario? I maize well let you know that your not exactly hurting my economy just messing with my OCD because buying corps with assets valued 200 billion for 1000 billion just gives me lots of cash.... If it hurt my economy first place i wouldn't have ipoed

how exactly is it multiplaying Ardglass? we have premium members who have both a ceo and a country, so it's not multiplaying if it's one account on one world.

oh The Why... I see its easy for you to betray us and then whine about the unfairness of war in the forums? Shut up and suffer the consequences you rat. You deserve no better for treason. Lisbeth is being real merciful at the moment with you, be thankful that she nor another nuke power are taking my advise for a decisive end to this ridiculousness.
Hinting at us multi-playing is just a lowly remark... Did you underestimate somewhere in there?

i suggest instead of just launching nukes like a war criminal you gather your wits about you and launch a cohesive attack instead of taking potshots with conventional missiles
