To date, there are no weapons that can damage or destroy a space center.
in the near future, it will become possible.

If a space center is destroyed, all contents will be destroyed.
It will not be easy to do.
it will be possible to protect it forcefully
and any such change will be announced ahead of time.

and the next step, would be charging CEO's the same monthly upkeep for their stashed weapon and ammo, and then war will be a just a memory in SC.

Wait, what would be the difference?

may be to encourage players to go save their goods in space, would be to allow players to own space stations then?

until w3c comes up with the space war stuffs, that things can be destroy in space stations too?

for now, why not just make it that the most powerful weapon in sc can destroy a space center, such as one strategic bomb can destroy a space center? this would be more realistic :)

Funny.
You are scared to death of any change that might expand the war features to include space centers and then predict the end of the war game.

the end of the war game was predicted from day one of this game and we have a millions wars since then.

And yes, we think that all types of objects should participate in the war game and defend themselves if they want to.

we also think that war should be extended to space and that space should provide with special economic advantages if you play that part.

Andy are ceo's ever going to be involved in the war game other than just to stash arms? As in paying maintenance or attackable in some way?

I am all for this update. I would also like to see a physical location for all items in the game that can be attacked in a war.

People, myself included, store thousands upon thousands of weapons in a CEO, and it is perfectly protected, because it doesn't exist until it gets transferred out of the CEO.

My suggestion is that all physical goods MUST have a physical location in a country to be stored. High defense countries can "rent" space to CEOs if they wish.

Lets expand the game, and add some risk.

I don't know which country my enterprise space center is located in. That would be nice I guess. I would like to see better econ development. There is so much effort expended on the war aspect to the detriment of the econ side of things. Much real world conflict is economic in nature. Real competition in the econ arena would be a cool feature.

I do not stash products. I stock my inventory for I trade on the misery and death of others aspiring only to sell the weapons of destruction to each side. Ahh, to profit from the evil that lurks in the hearts of men.

You have to be a Premium Member in order to nationalize corporations. It used to be a Free Member feature a while ago.

There are two types of nationalization in this game which is confusing the discussion... Erin is thinking of the feature that allows me to nationalize state corps (which makes no sense really because state corps are national corps) in this sort of nationalization you go to a state corp and click "nationalize this corporation" and bam it says status changed..... but when i go to a public corp that is being held in my country by a hostile CEO in place of the button that says "nationalize corporation" it says "If you are unsatisfied with its performance, you can nationalize it if you are Premium Member."......... this sort of nationalization rather then putting the corporation in the status of "nationalized" forcibly purchases the "major shareholders" shares..... there has never been the option for a country to purchase shares of corps either in the country or beyond its borders... this nationlization feauture allowed me to protect my corps from CEOs who buy up shares of my truly public corps but now i cant i assume because new players who acquired a c3 couldnt just takeover CEOs corps... unfortunately CEOs are now doing the same to me :(

Is there any chance of the GM looking into updating the space pages. AS it stands if i want to move assets around i have to click them 1 at a time and go though EACH item one by one.

In the next update can the GM do something to where i can click 5-6 items at once and have them all sent to where i want them rather then having to do them one at a time?

Andy do you have any comments on the nationalization problem... i dont think its right that a CEO can take over a countrys public corps without any action that can be taken by players

Andy

Presidents can block CEOs from taking over corporations in their countries.
it is a setting.

It is absolutly wrong to do so but added after many requests by players some years ago.

The best you can have is private and public corporations in your country, they contribute most. The best countries have only such corporations.
you just need to make sure they can be successful by making sure education works and by increasing the welfare in the country.

thewhy

Andy you are not understanding me..... as you know state corps can upgrade to 200 private corps to 225 and public corps up to 250.... therefore public corps are indeed the best.... but i like to control my own economy this means that i use Country controlled public corps.... i have run private economies before and they were inflexible and mediocre.,... in order to get the 250 upgrade level you must sell to under 25% ownership (you cannot buy shares with your IF either).... YES you can block CEOs but that setting does NOTHING.... it prevents CEOs from requesting constructions and relocations of private corps but i can just deny those requests when they come in i dont need to block them.... its not worth my time to go click the box because it doesnt do anything.... the thing im worried about is some asshole CEO buying a 30% ownership of my corps sending the upgrade down to 225 and giving them control of my economy...... now Andy let me ask you what happens when an enemy of mine makes a multi CEO gets a bunch of loans and buys up shares of my public corps and sets production to 10%.... my country is ruined thats what happens i cant buy the corps back through nationalization or just regular buying of shares and i cant force them to move or close the corps through "blocking CEOs"..... look at my country

https://sim03.simcountry.com/cgi-bin/cgiw?ownedcompanies&miCountryName=RESPUBLICAARDGLASS

11 of my fully upgraded corps have been taken over by CEOs one of them has been set to 10% hiring and production

what am i supposed to do andy? are free players forever confined to unprofitable state corps or whoring their economy out to CEOs who consistently close and move corps aswell as changing salaries

not to mention it takes a long time to get many corps from CEOs in the first place

and remember "blocking CEOs" does nothing you could probably just remove the feature and give players more time to accept and reject requests.... we need a nationalization feature (for public corps) or we need the ability to buy shares of corps located within the country

Andy

XON: "the posts by gm and info in the docs simply says that public corps are better than private corps, so you must ipo your corps to share the wealth"

I explained many times that if you do not like CEOs you can block them.

you cant block ceos form taking over public companies andy.... there is no point to blocking requests because you can reject them when they come in.

The setting helps a lot. not players who are checking every day but others, who do not want to be there all the time to prevent CEOs from taking their corporations.

<25% share holding is risky as intended.
many make this happen but corporations can be taken over.
countries can be taken over too.

Not risc is no game.

we love these truly public corporations and will keep it exactly as it is.
We will also prevent countries from trading in shares in corporations they do not control.

this is the priviledge of the enterprises and each player can have two.
many have more, in multiple worlds.

You may not like this features and others may not like other features.
There is no point in talking about it for ever as it will not change.

thewhy

presidents can stay out of it and keep all their corporations in their own hands.

a misunderstanding on your part? can you elaborate?

that sounds nice and dandy but it neglects the fact that state corporations are unprofitable as they are profitable
