Questions of Morality

ive decided to start this thread so the wizened vets of SC can illuminate young souls on questions regarding morality

first off would God send one to hell if one was to become significantly inebriated from the consumption of the sacramental wine or would he just give a godly chuckle?

how would one become "significantly inebriated," off sacramental wine?

not to mention, the question semi-assumes that it is a sin to be drunk, which is not what every one believes.

so i suppose that the question is rather broad in parts, and narrow in others.

i think God would burn you john at the stake. you put the thought in my head.. now i have to have that damn wine..

you become significantly drunk off sacramental wine by drinking it in significant quantity

im not assuming its a sin to be drunk just asking if its a sin to be drunk of gods wine

Does the difference have to do with belief, or absolutes? If I don't believe that sacramental wine is really sacred, am I less guilty for getting drunk on it than one who believes that sacramental wine is potentially the "blood of Christ"? Or is it worse for the skeptic, who is profaning a sacred thing, whether he himself believes it or not?

From my point of view, you aren't really supposed to drink the communion wine for fun, but I have to admit that on the few occassions when I have had to ddrink a large volume of wine (priest blessed too much) I enjoyed it. We always had nice wine in those days. I don't think there was anything wrong with enjoying it.

They only used to give us a sip of wine not really enough to make it worth sitting in church for an hour.

hehe...I find church to be fun...but maybe that's just me.

Reality people. God cares about all sin, but he has given everyone the abilty tobe saved by what Jesus did for all on the cross. But you have to believe Jesus died for all mans sin. PAST , PRESENT, and FUTURE.

Presidium did you read the question? Did you read the scriptures? If you did surely you understood that I was just giving the answer to the questions using the bible.

how about romans 14:14-17 if the dude feels guilty about what he did, then he shouldn't do it again.

but the question is about dishonoring the communion wine, by not treating it as holy? if so, 1 Corinthians 11:27-30, trust me, this is a very real, and nasty curse

so if the question is about getting drunk, its no big deal, if its about dishonoring the Communion, then is is. refer to the Romans verse and search your self to see if you dishonored communion, or not

But keep in mind whats been said here, God can forgive.

God wants everyone, thers no question. Its hard for some to see. One needs to look and understand (John) Or (Saul. ) Same man. We all have the same opportunity. God has left that to each one. The only blame will be if you choose to be not with God, And depend on your own gains.
