So the short story is that I have been experiencing some symptoms for a few months. I came to the hospital on Tuesday morning when I was having some pain. I have since been admitted to the James cancer hospital after a baseball sized mass was found in my chest. I take some tests today to search for any more and to learn more about this one.
Just wanted to let my friends in sim to know where I was. I appreciate your thoughts! |

After a PET scan, it was decided to biopsy my bone marrow in addition to the mass in my chest. Both were done yesterday. The biopsy of the chest mass was cake where the bone marrow procedure was pretty terrible. I will now be waiting the weekend and through the beginning of next week for results. |

Well, the short of it is I have cancer, specifically Lymphoma. Been so busy with everything. Family and friends have been very supportive and I have had no shortage of visitors. I am still in the hospital, where I have been for nearly two weeks, and have started chemotherapy. I will finish the first cycle later this week and finally get to go home. I will need to return for five more cycles, however, as the battle to rid myself of this disease will take, at least, six months.
I appreciate your support.

Thank you all!
I have been home since last Wednesday, though I visit the hospital twice a week for a blood test. My picc line kinked and was removed yesterday. A port in many chest will be installed on Monday for my second cycle of chemotherapy that will start Wednesday. I am in the period where my immune system is the weakest. My last test showed My T-cell count to be a quarter of what it was when I started chemotherapy. I spend my time at home. Any visitors need to wear masks and I must wear one for my appointments.
Today, I started to experience sores in my mouth that often are caused by chemotherapy. This has been frustrating as talking and eating have been difficult. My wife is out getting items such as pudding as I hope a prescribed mouthwash will help.
Anyone see the story of Eric Berry? He is exactly where I was about two weeks ago. |

Thanks for all your thoughts. I got the port installed. Finished my second cycle of chemotherapy late Sunday night and came home. Unfortunately, I noticed my breathing was difficult, particularly, when I tried to sleep. Came back to the emergency room yesterday and was readmitted to treat a blood clot in my lungs. I am back in the hospital and it is likely I will get to go home tomorrow. Hopefully, I wont need to stay longer or be readmitted until my next chemotherapy cycle after Christmas. |

I came home Thursday. To continue to treat the clot, I give myself two blood thinner shots a day in addition to a shot to rebuild my immune system.
I was able to see some family last night. Events like that help to cure the monotony of my hospital stay. Additional events celebrating Christmas and my birthday, on Thursday, will prepare me for my next hospital stay on the 26th.

Had a great Birthday and Christmas! Got out of the house and ate at some nice restaurants for my Birthday. Got to spend time with family for Christmas.
Back in the hospital now for my third cycle. Change of scenery a bit as I now get to stay in the new James hospital. Room is a bit nicer, bigger TV, nicer view with outide wall all window, and feels roomier. Goal is to be out by Thursday.
Hope everyone had a great Christmas! I know I am going to be watching some bowl games and NFL.

I am around. Going to be a bit more careful about announcing when I am in the hospital for game reasons.
I finished cycle three and got home the morning of the 31st. I really enjoyed the Big Ten victories and especially my Buckeyes beating Alabama. One more game tonight!
The mouth sores returned last week worse than before. Dehydrated, I returned to the hospital last Wednesday. I was treated with IV fluids, antibiotics, and a blood transfusion. The transfusion was a first for me though, I am told, it is fairly normal for those in treatment. I was finally able to eat solid food Friday night having had been too painful to do so since Monday. I got to go home Saturday.
Tonight, I will be watching the big game with family. I plan to enjoy what time is have away from the hospital as it seems when I am not there to treat cancer I am there to treat side effects of the treatment.

You've probably heard this a 100 times already but I want to wish you the best of luck.
I know what you're going through (I've had cancer myself) The treatment can be a real biatch and sometimes you'll wonder what's worse, the treatment or the disease. But take it from somebody who's been there that in the end it's worth it.

I know Gaz. He is a decent guy and a decent player. If I had known it was he that was the one being referenced to, I wouldn't have said anything. I do know that he and Aries were having a dispute and war was taking place between the two.
Remember, this is a game of gaining assets. Players have taken advantage of other players' weaknesses since the beginning of the game. I've been a product of it, all those that I've played with have done it and been a product of it.
I do ask that perhaps until a time that Aries is well enough to fight or defend that people give him slack. Also, I could say.........put your stuff in war protection, Aries!
As I said above, Gaz has played within the rules of the game. Sorry Gazzers, I shouldn't have said anything, but you know me, I love peace amongst everyone. :P

Whilst I agree in part Orbiter. This was on the war world. I dont think there should be any war levels on FB.
I suggested it years ago to have completly peacefull world where no pvp's take place and then the war world . Make money on pecefull and war on the war world.

Perhaps I should point out that there are more Nazis in foreign countries than in Germany, especially Russia lol. Nazis are lowlifes. If you dig elsewhere in the forums, my views would contradict the prime prerequisite for being a "Nazi".
I've been playing for a very long time and I don't see why waste resources on expanding and going above wl3, the inefficiencies are beyond the worth.

Yes, Josias once took out my beloved Bobo when Bobo couldn't fight back because he was at work. I used this as smack against Josias during our "fighting" days. Just like some of you are doing here. Hey! It's the game, fair or unfair. It has been going on since I've started playing. Anyone playing the game for assets will take advantage of their "opponents'" weaknesses. I love Gaz and Aries both. Aries is capable of fighting back, and I'm sure he will answer. And if I know him, he's chomping at the bit, as he loves a good war. Gazzers is also good at war. :-)
I am not taking sides either as Josias stated, because I love them both. But EVERYONE I know, including my friend and game mentor, Bobo, would have done the same thing. Now, I wouldn't have, cuz I'm a softie. :P Oh I mean, I'm vicious and wicked!.....
