1. Two New Products - Mobile Devices and Zinc

Two new products are added to Simcountry today, these products are Mobile Devices and Zinc.

Mobile Devices:
Mobile devices can now be produced by Mobile Devices Corporations. The corporation is in the High tech group.
Mobile Devices will be used in many different types of corporations and will be added to the consumption products used by the population.

Initially while not produced in large quantities, Mobile Devices are used in small quantities only in the telephone corporations and internet corporations. Their use will be increased in the coming weeks as their availability increases.

Zinc is now added to the mining group of products. It is initially used in the production of Steel and in construction corporations. The use of Zinc will be extended in the coming weeks as it becomes more available.
More products will be added into the mining group in the coming months. These products will be needed when the natural resources extension of Simcountry is introduced in the near future.

2. Shortage of Materials

When a country has a shortage of materials of any type, it should try to correct the situation as soon as possible. When shortages of materials become severe and the total value of materials in the country goes negative (extreme situations), the country risks falling into a managed status to help it correct the problem. Such extreme shortages can cause high emigration rates and severe loss of population.

A warning is issued on the country home page when you login, warning you of the problem. It is also easy to set up notifications to receive a message if such a situation occurs.

3. Fast ordering of products that are short.

If the country has material shortages, it can now place immediate orders for the products it needs. These orders will be executed without any limitation of spending space. It will allow players to quickly solve any shortages issue. The country does need the cash to pay for such orders. Please make sure you transfer the needed funds to the country.

4. Bankrupt Countries

Countries with negative TOTAL assets are considered bankrupt. Negative total assets mean that the total of all assets, including government assets, materials, weapons and ammunition, the total value of all corporations the country owns, and the total of all cash and loans is negative.

A warning is shown on the account and the country page that bankruptcy is pending and the number of months you have to correct the situation. If bankrupt, the total negative assets will be paid by the main country in the empire. Correcting the problem ahead of time, ends up cheaper than letting the bankruptcy take place.

To allow more time for everyone to fix what needs to be fixed, we are resetting all warnings back to a period of two weeks. (84 game months).
Please transfer some cash to these countries, make it cash positive and purchase the missing materials.

A lot is said about this recently.
However, we do not expect any large number of countries to bankrupt. Small players and beginners are financially supported and none will bankrupt.
We expect a very small number of countries, members of large empires that are unwilling to support the weak links in the group.

5. Investment Funds Increased Payments

Investment funds pay more to their investors. Many investment funds are very rich and can afford larger payment. These payments increase the income of the population and also the taxes the population pays to the country. Funds that do not have enough cash, and are unable to raise cash by selling shares, do not pay out.

6. War level 13

War level 13 is added to Simcountry. The war levels document will be updated today or tomorrow.
More war levels will be added in the coming weeks.

7. Reduced Pricing of Weapons and Ammunition

More weapons and ammunition have been reduced in price. The process is continuing at a low pace to further reduce amounts in Simcountry and also reduce the cost of war.

8. Migration

Migration numbers are now showing on the country home page. Please check. Migration can increase when the country has severe shortages of materials, negative cash and when bankruptcy is pending.

There is no zinc on the markets being sold to corporations so all corporations that require it arent producing anything...

we have done this before many times.
It is always creating a blip in production.

currently there are already corporations producing it and we are of course adding product to the market in the first days to get it moving.

Thanks for that...

3 corps go down out of 34. Its a good job the rest of the corps are just about keeping the country afloat.

Maybe throw it in a news article about upcoming changes (on the homepage where you login) rather than just throw it in and scare the life out of everyone

BTW, thanks for the new Corps Andy.

Finally saw what the hubbub was about on -1trillion assets, somewhat. Transferred the cash the poor country was crying for and things seem heading back to normal. Doesn't seem like a big deal, if you are around to handle it immediately. Not sure I would be pleased to deal with it if I was on an extended trip or something. The system immediately spikes taxes, if your country has mostly CEO corps that will be a problem as the Automated tax increases cause CEOs to jet for greener pastures.

Thanks for the new features Andy.

Any idea when countries will purchase Mobile Devices for citizens, if that's planned? Any guess on quantities would be great to know as well, and when might they be able to be purchased through CM contracts?

Mobile devices will become a consumption product in the next update coming Tuesday.

Use will increase in the corporations that already have it.

A solution is found for new products that will not cause any trouble in corporations that start using it.

More products will be added coming Tuesday.
