I have a dream,

The introduction of a whole new area that can really be expanded if you put the time and efforts into it ;

Ecology

The general idea:

Countrys produce waste. More pop , more waste.

Countrys have dumps, When the dump is full , welfare lowers.

Educated citizens will tend to recycle more and therefore produce less waste. Recycling improve welfare.

It does not work like any other product since waste is gained automaticly, and you have to get rid of it.

The main 2 ways of getting rid of it is by buying waste management services, and recycling services ( read trucks )

The way i see it , is that players would have 2 roads they can take, becoming a big polluter but make big buck, at the expanse of welfare,

Or if the education is high enough, take the green road. More costly, but improves welfare, and score.

If your dump is full, citizen gets sick and the cost of health and water treatment goes up.

This is where things gets interesting : The product of recycing can then be sold, or transformed into various products at corporations, or a main recycling center. 1 bundle of recycling goods can be further transformed at existing corporations as an optionnal product ( you can either not have it or have it) and will give that corporation a "eco certification". Eco certified corps have less impact on environment and produce less waste.

Countries with at least 51% eco corps get the certification as well and boost score or welfare. It could also give a reduction in health cost or some other advantage.


Hope you can help share ideas but remember to stay realistic in the amount of codes required to make it happen.

You are already talking 'bout a crazy bunch of coding. And for that reason, i don't see this ever happening.

welp, not all of it anyhow.

I kinda do like the idea of landfills Vs Recycling. Where waste from population can either be tossed into a landfill ( Low cost / upkeep, but not vary healthy ) compared to Recycling centers ( higher cost / upkeep, but increases Welfare )

But i would propose that education only decreases waste produced by population.

I secondly propose that Waste can be transferred between countries within one's own empire.

That's my 0.02-$ worth, for what it's worth.
