My country on KB has been stocking batteries in huge quantities as they are so cheap. The interesting thing is that there are only 16 corporations producing and the requirements for them are so minimal only 1 corporation would be needed.

I really have no issue stealing the market on batteries as it were but I think that the excessive amount of batteries may just create a problem for all the corporations producing them especially if no one else ends up buying them.

In my opinion, there are too few corporations calling on batteries or the corporations using batteries are simply not requiring enough.

Can this be looked into before my stocks of batteries take over peoples houses in my country.

I see the number of corporations producing batteries has now halved.

That took 3 days and now we have 8 yet there is still quite a high production to demand ration! (and thats just 8 producing)

Batteries are a fairly new product in Simcountry (go figure).
When introducing a new product we have to take great care to not destabilize the markets completely. Especially with something like batteries that should (and will) be a widely used resource for a lot of products.
Safe to say that as time goes on the number of products that require batteries as a resource, and as a result the global demand for them, will increase.

I guess you'll be ready to build 3 billion smartphones, drones and adult toys when the time comes.

:)

I'll just make double my money from the amount i purchased them for i think. It may be worth looking at the amount the corporations can produce as a relatively small number can provide a relatively high amount (i know this will eventually increase but wouldn't it be nice to produce a few less per factory to increase the number of factories which in turn would create a gradual increase in supply as more are required instead of mass over production for minimal numbers?)

@Admin.

Why not just force the C3's to make Battery corps. Then once they have made a decent amout of them, then introduce the demand for batteries?

sure, it is a little more work at start as you would need to scrips ( one to build a corp that is not in demand and another so the C3's would not demolish said corps. ) But i think as a whole, it would be easy to do it as thus, then to slowly create a demand and supply.

We are looking into changing the way we introduce new products and into batteries specifically.
We'll never get to the point where we can just drop a new product into the market with all uses already enabled. The rule for us has always been to introduce any change incrementally. We simply can't predict all outcomes with this kind of free market system.

Nice, smooth transition re. batteries. I bet ALL Car corps are shut down. Any other corps get hurt? Just carping, I expect problems.

lola on at least two planets thur is an over supply of batteries.
so we would say that the only corp being "hurt" would be the batterie corps them selfs.

on a side note, it sure is a pain in the arse writing on this via PS3 :-/
